Zen Shakti

Back to the subject, sorry for the minor western Canadian hijack...

Great looking bike(s). I don't think I can add anything to top up any of the suggestions already made.
I'm partial to lot's of options, but at that price point, you probably will need to keep them to a minimum to reduce touch points and labour.

Nice to hear from you Ravi, short version please hurry up and take my money! You sure you are not building them in secret somewhere? maybe you need a permanent test bike in the south? I will ”store “ it for you...please make mine hi vis so many people will see it

@Ravi,

Any new tidbits/updates you can share on the Shakti....especially the step-thru?

We will have updated pictures of the diamond frame in a few weeks. We will have one of them re-painted in matt black (thanks for the recommendation, EBR community).
The step-thru will not be available this year, unfortunately. The wave frame needs to pass certain testing before it can get into mass production. As you can see here, the step-thru frame for Bosch drive systems had to undergo a lot of testing.

The almost-final version of this model is undergoing testing.
We will open the website for ordering and other details sometime in June.
Major components like the battery, the controller will be tested thoroughly to identify any glitches in the system. Paul has extensive knowledge of controllers and sensors on the E-bike than most in the industry and we are excited to bring a high-quality rig to the market.
  1. We have ordered our own suspension seatpost and a rider can get a decent quality seatpost upgrade for $59
  2. The dual battery option is an upgrade
  3. Handlebars with 15' sweep are chosen for comfort and I am sure @Asher and @Gionnirocket would like it.
  4. The rear fender will be longer in the production version
  5. The seat will be a bit more padded so it can accommodate the wide demography of riders
  6. quad-piston brakes have a long lead time and we may find an alternate supplier but we will make sure it is high quality
  7. We have received some feedback about the colors and we will consider that seriously.
  8. We also received comments about lights and fenders. Not everyone may need that. We will process this a bit more and see whether to make it optional or a standard item.
A bike with comparable components (Bolton Blackbird) has been priced even higher at $2499 because of the market situation but for EBR members and the E-bike community, we will strive to keep the same $1990 price.
  9. @J.R. and @opimax, you will be pleased to see a high-quality geared hub motor with a thru-axle that has a very smooth torque sensor with no jerkiness whatsoever.
Our goal in the next 2 years is to bring the latest battery tech to the E-bike space: Highly reliable bikes with the latest tech batteries that last 3000+ cycles and we look forward to serving the E-bike community in a profound way.
Thanks for following this and being part of this journey. For now, if you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

@Ravi Kempaiah I know I have only known you for a short time but I really believe I have met Tony Stark in making. Love what you are doing and can’t wait to see where you get to in 2, 5, 10 years time.

Same color scheme as my first car.. 71 Chevy Nova

Not sure what percent of riders are looking at more stealth looking ebikes, but I am one of them. I'd like to see the battery cover with a color match of the bike color. Have you checked the weight?
Hopefully Ravi is making progress as I'm riding my son's ebike till the Shakti comes out.

Having bought a couple of similar commuter style ebikes in the last year, I have to say this is a very well thought out bike. Touches like the 15 degree backsweep handlebar, the long fender coverage, the low pannier attachment point on the rear rack, quality hydraulic disc brakes and the torque sensor/rear hub drivetrain all appeal to me. If it has tubeless compatible rims/tires that would be a cherry on top.

It they can bring it to market for the $1999 price they will be able to sell them easily.

Are those the best? Was looking at new e-bikes & they were using 50E by Samsung.
For me they're the best in the sense that they have the most capacity right now , so you can build a big battery with them.
