Every Day Carry (EDC), and new Fumpa Pump

Dave,
A group of three people goes on a 75 miler for Saturday. My brother on his Trance E+ is self supporting. Now, my Vado and Vado SL will be ridden. The pannier 1 contains essentials for the "mechanical" group's safety, and its rider's personal stuff. Pannier #2 contains a spare Vado battery, repair essentials for that e-bike, and personal stuff such as beverages and snacks. Now, there might be a third pannier with a DSLR camera... :D

OK, we'll call you prepared then. Gotta see pics though. :D

My EDC (for Vado SL only; I select another inner tube and spare master-links for my Vado 5.0).
  • Set of full size hex wrenches (10 mm one removed: never used, heavy)
  • Inner tube
  • Two tyre levers (who would ever need three of them?)
  • MTB mini-pump
  • Liquid soap for re-setting a tyre on the rim
  • Chain tool
  • Master-link pliers
  • Spare master-links for 10-speed chain
  • A sharp folding knife.
I would love to carry more tools, for instance pliers, adjustable wrench, Phillips screwdriver etc but don't because of excessive weight. What I'm missing in the EDC is a set of large nitrile gloves.

Great EDC! Nicely done!

Art, where does one buy a small first-aid kit?
I've had the one shown in the photo for ages and from time to time have had to replenish it.

The one Dave suggested is similar and would do in a pinch. You could always make one up yourself and tailor the contents to your own specific activity.

mymedic.com sells a small cycling-specific first aid kit. Currently on sale for US $13.47.

good post.

Went for a quick ride to the store. Coincidentally I noticed that my rear tire was almost flat. Grabbed the Fumpa pump out of the seat bag and Fumped from 11 to 35psi in seconds.
Put a fumpin' smile on my face.
Can't believe I hadn't been on my bike for 9 days! Ridiculous!
