Hi everyone

Well I've done it. Just ordered the above bike. 7 weeks to wait now so I'm looking at accessories.

Can someone give advice on rear panniers. I understand the 2020 Supercharger is compatible with Basil Bags? Thoughts on;

Basil Miles MIK – double bicycle bag – 34 liter

I like the look of Ortlieb Back Roller Classic QL2.1 Pannier Pair - thoughts.

Grateful for reviews / recommendations

Thanks

Hi i have a Supercharger GX for long distance touring and use Ortlieb Bike Packer Classics note i had to remove the pannier rack clip spacers to fit the rack, also i posted on EBR a problem that i faced , the paint work on the rack was seriously rubbed off by the panniers , like canvas on metal ? R&M do advice about protecting the paint work , buried in the small print , they sent my dealership some Tuff tape to repair the paint work , not sure if they have improved the 2020 bike based on feedback. the paint is not as tough as the paint on Tubus Pannier racks and in my opinion not up for the job , and needs to be improved to protect it from every day use .

There are lots of good panniers out here. For myself I am partial to Swift Industries and North Street. But again lots of companies make great panniers.

Most R&M rear racks don't have a convenient loop on the bottom of the rack to clip the pannier to, so you'll need to improvise something with cable ties for that lower pannier hook. Simple bungee cord hook systems work the best with clipping to cable ties, while some of the fancier and more complicated clip systems do so poorly.

For Ortlieb's i'd get an additional hook for the bottom on each side: https://www.ortlieb.com/ql2-1-anchoring-hook-and-mounting-screw
In fact i run with an additional top hook on each side of the rear (spread load & emergency hook): https://www.ortlieb.com/ql2-1-mounting-hooks-16-mm-and-adjustable-handle
The Gravel Pack's already have 2 on the bottom: https://www.ortlieb.com/gravel-pack
I wish i knew about these before i bought Ortlieb's, no idea how well they go though:
