Sniglet for this?

Remember Sniglets? Words that don't exist in the dictionary, but should, to describe common things...
Some of my favorites were ambiportalous - having the predisposition to ALWAYS grab the locked door when approaching any pair of doors... and carperpetuation - repeatedly vacuuming over something until you pick it up, examine it, drop it back, and let the vacuum try one more time... and elecelleration - repeatedly pressing an elevator call button in the hope of making it arrive sooner...
Surely there has to be one (or we can create one) for this: The phenomena of cruising down the bike path, realizing you are gaining on, and will soon need to pass, the biker up ahead, but seeing a group of (typically) pedestrians heading toward you on the opposite side, and their future position will exactly coincide with your ideal passing moment, causing you to slow to a crawl and lose all momentum.
I'm thinking walkblocked to get things started...? ;)

This dredges up memories of that speech-impedimented comedian on NNTN. I recall one for the last-minute birthday-present you buy on the way to the party, and it shows him running into a 7-11 and buying a big box of laundry-detergent.

I REFUSE to google this! I'm trying to rely on my memory!

Walkblocked...works for me and I can definitely relate. Ever stop to think of the math calculations going on in your brain at that moment to determine if you can make it or not? Now, if they would have made that a word problem in math class instead of "If a train leaves Chicago traveling at 50 mph..." I would have gotten an A.

Happens every time! It's called a pedyield;)

Thanks for the smile. Too infrequent with online content.

Hehehe... I like pedyield, though it carries a more willing, polite air; perhaps missing some of the implied sense of frustration I felt when I was walkblocked several times today ;)

Another encounter today... the dead-stopped pedestrian standing stock still in the middle of the marked lane of the bike path, typically focused on their phone... their back to you, probably with earphones in, thus oblivious to all coming up from behind... immobilidiot?

2 years ago I was doglined. I went right over the bars. Like being close-lined, only by a 12 foot dog leash and a completely immobilidiot.

If I let my friend ride my bike and I ride his bike, is it called "E-Bike swinging"?!!

:eek::p
