Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

So you are having trouble installing Armours ? Get the LBS kids to install them like we do. Old geezers like us should know when to pass the baton to a pair of strapping young lads in the service department.
I just lost so much respect for you! 😉
Even I got my TA in the rear SCHWALBE G-One (27.5X2.5) correctly and did a successful & significant ride in it. I do admit it took about an hour and my hands were cramping like crazy when I finished.😢

No ride for me on this rather cool and wet Mother’s Day. Instead, I’ve taken on the task of cleaning drive trains starting with my wife’s ride. Nothing beats a warm bath in the ultrasonic cleaner. Judging by the color of that diluted brew, it was well over due.

the ultrasonic cleaner is such a handy device. It makes easy work of keeping your drive train in tip top condition.

My first thought upon seeing the irrigator indeed was I could see some aeroplanes!

P.S. Poles have been taught to call the English Channel "La Manche". It has to have something common with Bonaparte and the Poland's history :D Although the more I think of Napoleon the more I'm inclined to take the British views as mine.
Lots of those circle irrigation systems around here. Recently, one went astray and extended itself onto railroad tracks and a train destroyed part of it. I did not know they could do that, but I guess it has occurred in the past with the pipes moving themselves onto roads. There is so much irrigation around here that I often get misted or worse on rides.

100% exactly correct!

The front tyre went on with a Tannus Armour insert; on the rear, I gave up! Impossible!

That said: TA fitted to the front had quite a few thousand km of previous use. Tannus Armours do compress with time; it's been mentioned on EBR as a disadvantage but, perhaps, it was what made fitting the first liner possible. Should I mention that I destroyed (that is, pinched) two tubes in the futile process of non-fitting the rear TA?
Putting mine on only damaged ONE tube. However my repair wasn't the best and had to be redone. I am getting much better at taking tires on and off, after many, many years of no practice.
Where the patch is, there's now a second - right at the seam on the tube.

A little update on the "E-Bike Day of Wonders"...

The two acoustic men controlling the speed, the electric petite spinning vigorously (my pupil!), and me closing the peloton as the strongest rider there :D

I love @Jerzy Bańkowski telling his stories!

My old friend Lidka actually "stole" Jerzy back in 2017 for her rides just after 2 days of their Facebook relationship! (and that was the reason of the bad blood between us). Lidka rides a 13-yo Decathlon hybrid bike and is a rider full of endurance. If not her, Jerzy would have never made his first 75-miler! :)

An interesting fact: Decathlon found the design of the bike Lidka rides very good. Now, they offer an equivalent e-bike based on that old design:

Decathlon Riverside Original 920 E electric hybrid bike. It is identical to the one Lidka rides, only a motor, battery and a controller were added.

My motor arrived this afternoon and is now back on the bike, sadly I only had time for a quick trip round the block, its super smooth now and runs like it was brand new! 👍 I'm very happy with the job the guys at Performance Line Bearings done, I can't wait to test it properly now but tomorrow is going to be wet!:( Thankfully Thursday and Friday are looking promising so fingers crossed I will have a ride report soon!

Perfect timing! Looking forward to your outstanding ride reports from Bonny Scotland this spring and summer. Long may you ride.

Cabbage Tree Creek, Shorncliffe
To each their own, as we often say on the EBR forums. That said, I do look nostalgically at the kayaks and sailboats spied from the Moreton Bay Cycleway.
Now all you need is one of these fitted to the rack on your new Homage:
