Have had quite a busy week this week, so not been out since our holiday till yesterday.
Last week we had a cycling holiday in the Norfolk Broads and Great Yarmouth area. I’m doing a little write up of this and will post in the next few days.
This was the first time that Mrs DG had really used her new Nevo3. She much preferred it to her old Wisper 705, but it did develop some issues during the holiday; mileage was not reading correct, too low, a number of error messages and the motor cutting out.
We popped it back to the LBS who checked things over, cleared the faults and reset everything. They also repositioned the magnet on the rear wheel.
So yesterday we managed to get out for a quick test ride to test out the bike and it worked OK. No error messages and the mileage matched mine, so hopefully all fixed now.
One of the changes to the current model of the Nevo3 is the rear light. It has changed from a Busch & Muller to a SuperNova, with a brake light facility. This is operated by a switch from the brake lever and is incredibly bright.
Mrs DG said could I have this on my Nevo3 as this would tell her when I’m stopping, so we investigated our options. Found that B&M have a new rear light, the “Line Brex”, with a braking function. However, it does not require a switch to work but uses sensors.
Ordered one of these and fitted it yesterday, so part of the ride was to test this out too. Mrs DG reports that this works well, it doesn’t go brighter when you start braking, but when you are almost stopping it comes on for about 3-4 seconds. Admittedly it is a compromise , but then you don’t need additional wiring or new brake levers, etc., plus it does look nice also.
