Missing magnet

I had a rear wheel rim replaced on my Bosch system ebike. The technician forgot to put the magnet back on the wheel. It will be several days before I can get the magnet. Will it cause any problems (other than unrecorded mileage) if I ride without the magnet? Details that I assume are irrelevant: Intuvia controller; Performance Line motor; 2017 Kalkhoff Agattu B8

You will get a code on the display and it will only ride in limp mode since there will be no speed signal to the controller. Basically unrideable.

Thanks. Now let me ask a hypothetical question. Let's say I rode home from the bike shop without noticing any problem. Hypothetically speaking, I'd feel foolish for riding 7 miles without noticing that the controller wasn't recording speed or distance. Would I have the error code and be stuck in limp mode when I get the magnet reinstalled? Hypothetically speaking, of course. At least I know now that I shouldn't ride it back to the bike shop.

I(had it happen and it rode fine and I have had it happen and it did not.maybe it happened before I had the nyon but I cant remember.

If you ride without the magnet you will not get any support and likely an error message.

No it will not cause any problems it is the same as riding with support turned off. Just keep it off and ride on.

It will come out of limp mode automatically when it starts getting a reliable signal. I had a misaligned magnetic, as the poor QA at Haibike didn't tighten it properly. I had the same error code. It went away by itself when I aligned and tightened the magnet.

Essentially if you want to cycle shop, you can do so, you might as well however just ride with the controller off.

yes just getting the magnet right will fix it. I Was getting that and finally realized my nyon mount was getting sloppy.

Another replacement item I’m never without. Infuriating waiting days for a cheap part.
