I got a bonus ride today as the predicted thunderstorms stayed away, I actually just heard a huge clap of thunder while I was typing this Of course 5 miles from home I got soaked from a cloudburst, no thunder of course Anyway I managed a very enjoyable 65 miles in mostly dry conditions 2248 miles covered in 2019 now!

My “vintage” (does a bike become “vintage” at 25+ years?) ~1992 Bianchi (acoustic) bike on its inaugural ride of the “Arlington Loop” yesterday, riding with my sister and stopping along the Potomac for a view of the monuments.

Sorry the banana thing bombed out, Steve.. it works pretty well for me. Nothing more fun than jumping out of bed at 2am with your calf muscle inside out.

Dave I was wrong as it seems to be working now in combination with forcing myself to drink more water and doing a few stretches. I even bought one of those banana boxes to protect it on the rides. Thank you all for your input.

At about 6pm yesterday I rode out to see my friends north of town. Also wanted to look at a chain lock they have offered me as nobody has any use for it now. The chain and lock was to heavy but I got a nice ride and was treated with pork chops
It’s only a 9.5 km ride but I was ”racing” some sporty commuters on regular bikes and I stayed in Eco mode all the time so I got a 25minute workout. Average 23km/h is pretty good to be me.
Coming back home at 8.30pm it was to early to park the bike so I made a short tour in the neigborhood. Total c:a 28km.

These pics are from a ride along Sand Creek Regional Greenway, north of Denver. Once badly polluted it started getting federal notice in the 90s and cleanup finally got really underway around 2000. Suncor Energy, the refinery near the S. Platte trailhead, consolidated several refineries onto the West Bank, moved the creek a bit east and built a 15' clay bank for separation. Different combinations of public/private groups worked on other parts and the result is a greenway multi-use trail that, though it runs through industrial areas, is surrounded visually by green growth. A nice ride I just started doing a few weeks ago, I can get a sweet 30+mile ride from it round trip.

Yesterdays 08/15/19 ride. Beautiful day in NH. I decided to do a 70 mile ride on the E Bike to test my range.
As you can see from the ride stats it was a hilly ride
not unusual for NH total ascent was 4,522 feet. The first half of the ride I tried to minimize battery usage so when assist was needed I used ECO and used the proper gear. As I got closer to home I started using Sport mode and used Turbo a couple of times. I ended up with 8 percent battery left. I think I could get another 10 to 15 miles out of the battery if I had too. My battery settings are the following ECO 35/35
Sport 50/75 Turbo 100/100 the first number is support the second number is peak power. These are my settings done by my bike shop per my request. According to my bike shop factory settings are ECO 35/35 Sport 70/100 Turbo 100/100.

I repeated last Thursday's ride but no pictures this time as I was pushed for time, just under 37 miles and 3,300 ft of climbing, it was a little windy but no problem for my awesome bike My 2019 total now stands at 2,285 miles with an average distance of 60.13 miles, I'm not sure if I will be adding to my total this weekend looking at the weather forecast but they were wrong last weekend so fingers crossed!

Rode to the usual ice cream place after dinner. Started at 6.45pm.
Then went to check out the rigging for a concert I’ll go to on Saturday night. After that continued in the Djurgården park area and took a picture of the back of the stage. Last pic shot at 9pm on my way home. 27km today. Not much but I need to ride even if I don’t go far. I think I have developed an addiction, I feel very good on my bike

Robyn, a talented young ( 40 years old so ... well young to many of us) Swedish woman. I think she’s doing quite well in the US, not just as a singer but also composer. I don’t listen a lot to her music but I think this can be a good show.
Many years ago I saw and heard Neil Young on the same spot. Different experience for sure.

I joined a few of my regular roady friends for a 48 mile up to Artist Point on the slope of Mount Baker. We started the ride at the town of Glacier, elevation 1,000 feet. The half way mark was at 5,000 feet, The 25 mile ride up took 60% of two batteries. The ride back down took 10%. It was freekin awsome!! The ride up was a steady, unrelenting grind with spectacular alpine scenery all around. The ride down was fast, furious and fun. By the time we got to the bottom of the mountain, my hands and wrists ached. They are still shaky as I type this post.

Yesterday's ride took me on several miles of of a delightful but rough forest road through the Brimfield State Forest in Massachusetts. It was a new route for me and my map does not designate surface types on public roads. The Homage with Rock Razors handled it well. It would have been far more challenging with my Magnum hub drive.
