I hope you're considering using something flexible like these? Light and able to be made in a structure that doesn't grab the wind like a sail.

Sorry for the delay with the photos. I will try to get some more up asap. Basically an 8'x2'x2' bike trailer w/ 2x 175W flexible solar panels on aluminum alloy frame, base is 14 ga 1" sq tube w/ 1/4" plywood deck: on 20" BMX wheels. . The front lifts up for a place to sit w/ sun/ rain protection (side awning) but also to better catch early morning/ late afternoon sun. Solar panels are in series and provide 40-50V and max out ~5A. Boost charge controller raises V up to 60V and will charge my battery a 48V 20AH LiPO from 44V to ~47V in ~ an hr. Bike is an old chrome-moly Univega (Pauncho Vega) MTB, 26"x2.5 tires w/ DD 1000W rear hub motor. Trailer wgt 60#. It tows nice; on a smooth road; it has a sweet spot ~25 mph and barely notice it. Pauncho's range solo 30-35 mi;
hoping to at least double that.
