That Thousand Helmet does look nice! I wonder how much airflow a rider gets while riding in warmer weather. It would make a great helmet for our long rainy season and cold winter months.
You probably saw some helmets from the Heritage line up, they also have a MIPS line up and they look great! Check out their website!I saw them online..., gre
at helmets indeed..., but believe i didnt see the MIPS feature on it on a quick look...
Plenty of air flow with the Heritage and its great in winter also, i cant speak for the MIPS because i don't own any.......yet!That Thousand Helmet does look nice! Hi Haystacks, that's what I'm talking about..., cool and diferent from the mainstream... I'll investigate further, but the two-folded usability sounds amazing..!
If I were you, a chin guard would be tops on my list too! I’ve only gone over handlebars once and that was when I was a kid. I wasn’t wearing a helmet and the no-grip handlebar end made a scar just below the nipple that I still have today. When I fall off a bike, I always hit my chin and arms. Never the top, sides or back of my head. I've spilled over the handlebars 6 times. So I am less concerned about MIPS than an effective & permanent chin guard. I have one in my yellow & white Fox Rampage from competitivecyclist.com It has plenty of vents for summer heat. The vents are grilled to prevent tree branch entry. https://www.competitivecyclist.com/...hdDpCaWtlIEhlbG1ldHM6MzoxNTpjY0NhdDEwMDA1Mw==
I see checking the website that competitivecyclist.com has two other helmets with chin guard now. Bell Full-9 Fusion https://www.competitivecyclist.com/...hdDpCaWtlIEhlbG1ldHM6MjozNzpjY0NhdDEwMDA1Mw== , and Troy Lee Designs Stage Mips https://www.competitivecyclist.com/...QIENhdDpCaWtlIEhlbG1ldHM6MjozOmNjQ2F0MTAwMDUz
Both the latter are MIPS helmets.
What do you think of it? Is it great? For urban riding...@DandyD Knowing what bike you are getting i would recommend a Bell Super 3R.
As you will be commuting and going off road the removable chin bar will allow you wear it without to commute and strap it back on for a full face at weekends etc
After i OTB'd a few months ago i got a Seven iDP Project 23 Carbon, not recommending you get one but as everyone else is sharing....
It's an amazing helmet for my needs, huge airflow, wide field of vision and a great fit, but i spend all my time off road in sketchy locations doing sketchy things so it doesn't exactly give off an urban lookWhat do you think of it? Is it great? For urban riding...
But can it core a apple?I am using Safe-Tec Tyr 3, pretty nice and very functional for the price:
- MIPS
- turn signal
- automatic brake light
- chargable wireless remote control
- microphone
- bone conduction speakers
- bluetooth
- front and back LED strips
- lightweight
Why do you fall so often ?When I fall off a bike, I always hit my chin and arms. Never the top, sides or back of my head. I've spilled over the handlebars 6 times. You have no brain so what are you protecting with a helmet! But can it core a apple?
