Will this battery work with my 2018 rad rover mini

The amount of AH capacity in a second battery will not matter to the controller , as long it iis not less than what the first battery had. Higher AH batteies do have the ability to supply more current, but if your first battery was sufficient, you see no major performance increase. In other words, enjoy the extra range with more AH,

Cannot speak to whether the new battery works. Some makers do introduce double secret electronic handshakes between motor and controller. Others just make the cases and cradles different. I always thought that was silly.

All I am looking for is more range. However this proprietary business make me worried that it will not work. All I am looking for is a half decent range, I am tired of going out and being down one bar after 15 mins of riding .

I think Rad Power Bikes standardized the battery packs for all the 2018 ebikes. You would have to change out the battery tray for the Delong battery and you might have to re-wire into the Rad wiring harness. Pretty sure that would void your one year warranty if any ebike component issues occur.

It may be a pain and extra expense; but, I purchased an extra charger to leave a work. I have two (his/her) Radrovers and I use to take the wife's battery when I rode alone if I was going to push my max range (or hills or on a windy day). Ended up getting a second battery I can fit into my Topeak rack bag when needed.

Thanks for the advice. I wish Radrover would just sell these higher capacity battery. I hate the idea of being limited to 40Kms. I would like to be able to at least get anywhere in my city and back, which would take roughly 70kms. My knees messed up so I cant peddle much. Lugging around another battery just seems like a pain if you want to park to bike and go in somewhere.

I love my rear hub ebike; but, the big downside is range compared to mid-drives. Storing an extra battery is a small cost to double my range considering a lot of mid-drives are 2X-4X the price of the Radrover/Radmini. It is also hard to find a mid-drive with a throttle. Always a trade-off. A spare battery might be the only way to guarantee the 70 km range if that will be your daily rounds.

I have a +500 feet elevation gain going home, usually a head wind of 10-15 mph (gust +20 mph sometimes, and I weigh in at +280lbs with everything when work commuting. I can use up to 1/2-2/3 of my battery power just riding the 6.5 miles home when the wind is +20 mph. I "once" forgot to charge the night before and had a very windy commute the next day and ran out of power 1 mile from home. I was only able to pedal about 2-3 mph uphill in a headwind and that made me purchase another charger to leave at work when needed.

I hear you, I went on a 40km round trip ride today, was 10kms from home and my tire popped for the third time in as many days. This time I had to take the bus home then drive back to pick up my bike. The other two times I pushed the bike 5 and 7 kms home. I guess I got bigger problems with the Radrover. I have never popped this many tires. My last ebike that was a gasser, but had mountain bike tires, I would go on 100km treks out into the country, without a hitch. 5 years later and I have never popped a tire. Now 3 tires in 3 days, what is going go? I can no longer depend on this bike, which sucks.

I ended up using Mr. Tuffy liners and 2 small bottles of Stans tire sealant per tire. I also keep in my Topeak rack bag everything I need to fix a tire with tools, zip ties, Topeak tire pump, velcro strips, patch kit, hand wipes, and spare tube. I've ended up needed all that stuff at least once with the Radrover. I've found the Kenda tires seems to be have more flats compared to my Vee8 120tpi tires.
