Who is selling unbadged Frey bikes?

I’ve seen a couple bikes looking around that look a lot like Frey frames with similar components. Does Frey make bikes for other companies?

Dang. Knew I was seeing frames and rear suspension that looked beyond similar but figured it was probably just copycatting. Frey must be a huge concern. Makes all the more perplexing why they won't distribute here in the US. I really like Frey bikes but not going near Alibaba. TomD, how did you figure this out?

Not sure why you wouldn't order from Frey via Alibaba. You won't have any issues with Frey in terms ordering and getting what you ordered. But you will need to get in line as it's a longer wait due to covid.

Tom I love the look of your Red Frey. What would be an approx total price for one delivered to me in Palm Springs CA including shipping? Also, I have read some of your early reviews, do you think the company has worked out some of the kinks?

Frey CC starts at $3K + $500 shipping. I added around $200 of options (rack, fenders, lights, gear sensor, chain guard, ergonomic grips, extra chain, derailleur hangers). A lot of bike for the money. I don't think there is anything out there that can touch it from a value proposition as long as you are ok with a heavy bike (70+ pounds). If you want more refinement and range you can upgrade to the watt wagons aftermarket controller (see watt wagons forum). After doing that I feel like I have a world class bike.

Hi , did you do the upgrade yourself and were there any draw backs or was it all positive results?

So 3700 delivered?

Self install. Only drawback is lights don't work (ETA 2021 fix) so I'm using manual lights (not that big a deal) but no more range anxiety and motor is smooth and refined.

Give or take depending on what options you want, you can contact Frey for an exact quote. You might want to throw in a spare battery if you need more than 40 miles range and don't want to upgrade the controller. I think the controller upgrade is the better investment.

Sounds really good, how much more range?

A while back I went on Alibaba's site and it just seemed like a confused mess. Made ebay look sorted in comparison and I can't stand ebay any more though I bought and sold many thousands of $ worth of camera equipment there a decade or so ago. Even Amazon is getting a bit wild and woolly these days and I've been a prime member since prime began. With what I've learned just in the last couple weeks from all you guys I might go direct to Frey now instead of paying Bolton Ebike's markup. But then Kyle is a decent bloke and I can always take a trip to Cali

Kyle from Bolton ebikes tells me today in an e-mail that Frey is not building the Raptor bike. He claims they have nothing to do with it. So .... I guess there is a frame maker in China that Frey uses and Bolton used them too? IDK

I am tempted to buy the Aliexpress $1900
dual suspension and cancel my Frey order.
Don't do it Taylor. Hold the line! Go back to the CC thread here and remember how beautiful this bike is and all the great reports on the quality. Don't jump from the frying fan into the fire.

Besides ... just who is this Aliexpress floozy that has beguiled you? What sort of girl is she really? Just how much do you know about her? Is she even from a decent family? Fess up Taylor. 😏
