Hello all. Been on the forum for about a week while awaiting delivery of my 2020 Vado 4.0 in Carbon/Black/Liquid Silver. She finally arrived the other day and I am more than happy with her so far. Took her for a simple 7.5 mile initial shakedown ride to tweak the seat height/position as well as the Ergon GP3 grips I swapped the factories with. I’m sure for the next few miles I’ll have to make some more minor adjustments to the ride, but that’s to be expected n a new frame. She’s nimble, responsive and a joy to ride. I traded in my 2015 Sirrus Comp Carbon for this model and initially I thought that I would miss the extremely light weight of the Sirrus. Although she was simply to pick up and move around, I don’t miss the lighter weight while riding (so far!). I have my previous bikes carbon fiber handle bar extension (which had my Quad-Lock phone mount and 52 Speaker, and my TAZ1200 light but I’m not sure whether or not I’ll add it (for the foreseeable future.)

The only other upgrades at this point that I have planned are:

1. Set of Catalyst Pedals recommended by a forum member;
2. Snap-It Adapter (purchased, awaiting delivery);
3. Topeak MTX EXP Trunk Bag (purchase awaiting delivery);
2. Kinect 2.1 Aluminum Seat post.

Also, the Vado will be fighting for ride time with my Cycleboard Rover.

That's a beautiful looking bike you have there! I'd seriously considered the Vado and wanted the 5.0 but the Specialized dealer I wanted to buy from ended up not being able to offer it this season. He said he'd have to buy 5 of them and wouldn't do that this close to the end of the riding season (here in Montreal snow comes early!). So I ended up with a Giant instead, and a 2019 instead of a 2020. But at least I can enjoy it for the rest of the season and not have to wait until spring.

I’ve never heard of a dealer not ordering a bike based on having to order “x” number of bikes. Maybe it’s location/time of season based like you said (I guess I can understand that).

I still have two Stumpjumpers... one old non-suspension one which I have been using as my clunker commuting bike. And a full-suspension XC Comp FSR which is wonderful, but can't have fenders or a rack so it doesn't make a good commuting bike. That's what my new e-bike will be dedicated to. And my girlfriend just bought a Specialized Sirrus SL and she's loving it.

I'm in Canada, and it's possible that there are different requirements for Specialized dealers with their e-bikes than in the US. Plus I'm sure the volumes sold are far less in Canada. I don't know for sure if it was five Vado 5.0's that he would have had to order, or just five e-bikes of different models. He didn't have any Specialized e-bikes in stock. But he's a big Specialized dealer just the same. But "big" up here might be small in the States (probably).
