Show us pictures of where you ride your ebikes!

Yesterday was a holiday here in Ontario, so we spent the afternoon doing a 50km round trip on our Spark Mini's, just beating the storm on the way back.

The bridge where this pic was taken has additional space to pull over and rest for a moment.

The Humber river was a bit more chatty with the recent rain. The red and blue rectangles on our trunk bags are Anker Soundcore speakers, which are linked so we can listen to music (at a responsible level) while riding. The playlist was most 60's rock and pop (The Monkees - Last Train to Clarksville, Donovan - Season of the Witch, that kind of stuff). Time to cram a power bar.

Battery check... 60% on the nose, after 25km.

It started to drizzle after a few minutes, so we decided to head back, as the sky was looking a little ominous.

We considered stopping for a bite by the lakeshore, but decided against it... luckily.

Just a couple of klicks from home. The stormfront behind BMO Field (where the Toronto FC plays) is where we were riding from. To the left and behind me was blue sky, which you can see in the corner. And yes, I have Kawasaki green rim tape from CustomTaylor33 on my bike that matches my water bottle. Unfortunately, the speaker wasn't available in that colour. :) She has cyan rim tape, which is why she gets the cyan coloured speaker. :)

Almost home now, and you can see the rain getting closer. You can make out the wall of water just to the left of the large building in the foreground. We beat the storm by less than 5 minutes.

50.88km, and the battery check was at 38%, mainly because there's more downhill on the return, and you can leverage the free momentum in a lower gear even on these 20"x4" folder to get some leg-only travel.

I recall Scots telling me they average nine months of cold and wet, and three months of rather bad weather ...
Sounds about right, although we did have 2 dry months at the start of the lockdown...maybe they need to bring back the full lockdown to improve the weather! ;)

Me and "Big Juggy," my Biktrix Juggernaut Ultra 1000, have been all over the peaks and foothills of the North Cascades this summer; pix below are from Lyman Hill and Bowman Mountain near Bellingham, WA.

Did my usual ride into our nearby Provincial Park this morning... generally a bit over 2 hours/30 km. At this rate, I’ll rack up about 7500 in a year, counting a slowdown or stoppage for the winter. Have been looking for trails in the unused/unmapped parts of the park, and found a beauty today, about 3 km long, grassy open forest. Put up a couple of deer surprised to see anyone I guess.

Just got my 1st Ebike. Love it. Starting off by exploring the local surrounds in central Maryland. I plan to do the C&O/GAP trail from DC to Pittsburgh next month.

After reading posts from people who describe themselves as "fit, athletic" types who still bother to ride ebikes I thought I would check to see if I fit that demographic. Couple of days ago rode a mountain bike with street tires 39 miles, had to get off and push the bike up almost a mile over the steepest stuff with 10+% grades - got home sweaty and exhausted - nope, not fit/athletic. So yesterday I took my ebike for what turned out to be a 64 mile, "metric century" ride with over 3,000ft total elevation gain per google maps. I probably rode half or so without assist but would have had to walk and push a regular pedal bike a lot, or likely wouldn't have been able to complete the ride. Ended up with 23% left out of a 400W battery. So not fit or athletic, far from it, but able to enjoy a longish strenuous ride nonetheless.

I only took a couple of pictures, and not of the trash heaps, tents, broken down vehicles with people living in them along the Columbia.
So sad that what was a beautiful, clean and relatively safe city as Portland has become such a national disgrace. Outside of Portland still beautiful, at least for the time being.

Beautiful photos... thanks for sharing. It sounds like you are pretty fit to complete a 100K ride!

Looks like you are riding a BH Gravel-X bike... can you tell us about the modifications you made?

Glad to see that the Columbia River wilderness has not been destroyed by the nonsense in Portland.

If your body is ready for more and your battery isn't, you might be fitter than you think. If I ever outlast even my small battery, I will celebrate ... and then buy a backup battery. 😃
