Hitting the road tomorrow, first stop Jacksonville Oregon, next day redwoods riding, then part further south. Yesterday after the 43 mile tune-up ride, I cleaned up the bike, with some extra love for the chain. It looks fresh and new but I realized that the first chain went about 1,500 miles from new in July when I replaced it and now it has been another 1,500 since then. The first change the chain "stretch was between .5% and .75%. Yesterday it was a solid .75% longer. New chain time. I swear the bike feels like it has more giddy-up today.

The Legacy Trail, Sarasota-Venice, is another old RR track that's been paved over into a bike/jogging trail. This railway started in Virginia and ended up near Venice, FL. I rode the Venice portion a year ago. Today, we took it from south of Sarasota to Venice. It was a nice day to be outside .. 76F. Saw a few other ebikes. We made a 25 mile loop out of it. Could have gone further north or south and extended it.

I think the recycling/repurposing of an old/disused asset is a wonder development of a resource. We have a number of such trails in Austraila and they all prove to be very popular and an economic benefit to the towns the trails pass through. The Legacy trail looks great.

I looked at today's weather forecast last night and it was showing a wet morning with gusty winds, drier in the afternoon but still with gusty winds! I woke just after 8am and looked outside to see it was actually dry, looked at the forecast again and it was showing the oppositeo_O I decided to have a quick breakfast and brave the winds, this is where an e bike really shines :D I wouldn't have contemplated taking my old carbon bike out in those winds but the e bike just fills you with confidence in gusty conditions and riding into the wind is a breeze ;) 42 miles of fun today in wild but dry conditions, it helps when the sun makes an appearance also :D 159 miles now covered in 2019 :)

I love cycling in cooler temps (anything from 40F to 60F), living in Scotland means I don't have much choice ;) 41C is way beyond my comfort zone!

Rode down to the Ky river along the palisades. One of my favorite rides but it is hilly. The ebike has largely made the hills disappear. Love this bike.
Welcome Tim . That looks like a Trek Verve ? What kind of range are you getting on it?

It is a Verve. I have never fully drained the battery but I'm guessing about 50 miles using mostly eco/tour mode. It's winter so the range may increase with warmer temps. I've only put 150 miles on it so far. Some more testing is needed. Can't wait to do a truly long ride on it. We've had a lot of wind, rain, and snow so my rides have been shorter.
