Got out late today like yesterday. Todays excuse was I spent som time in the morning attaching the KlickFix mount for my handlebar bag. It’s not difficult and shouldn’t take too long for most of you but on the Vado I have to reposition the front light first. Took me some time to find the gear I need for that. My repositioning of the front light is not very professionally done but now I have a properly mounted Ortlieb handlebar bag wich I like.
40km today (25 miles). Got wet on the way home because my rain gear is too old. Almost crashed into an e-scooter someone had left in the middle of the bike lane. The view through my rain covered glasses was much worse than camera view and holding my head down in the rain I caught sight of it late.
First pic is the City Hall. That’s where the dinner is held for Nobel Prize winners and guests. 1300 people.
Second and third pic from todays destination. Last two on my way home.

It was such a beautiful day today and with light winds for a change it was perfect cycling weather, a little chilly at first but it warmed up nicely :D 71 glorious miles today which takes my 2019 total to 1431 miles! For many years I have gone clipless but I decided to turn the clock back to days gone by and try toe clips and straps again and apart from one moment when my foot came out on a rough patch of road I was happy with them, it was like wearing your favourite slippers at times :D It was good to get off the bike and have a walk also for a change ;)

lovely pics. Yes cool to start off with, around lunchtime warmed up nicely here in East Yorkshire. Had a ride to the coast (Hornsea) Floral Hall Cafe for lunch. Basic, cheap (1950's) ish, and despite the thumb prints in the butter always a welcome stop, sitting outside under glass veranda with bracing views of the North Sea (forgot phone, so no pics) Rab, you could always look at DPD pedals and shoes. No "Duck Walk" then?

I take it you mean SPD's, I have tried them in the past and didn't get on with them... I don't fancy strapping a courier company to my feet :p I liked the comfort of the toe clips today so I will persevere!

Today was an adventure. Like all good adventures there was a certain amount of screwing up involved. This picture shows where Google Maps, Garmin, and Ride with GPS thought I needed to go:

yesterdays 96 km ride with the Bikespeed RS installed. I averaged 26.5 km per hour, an increase of about 2.5 km per hour. It seems a truck is unloading these Teslas every time I pass this way. Lets calculate 9 cars at approx $110k cdn each = about 1 million dollars on this truck.

Wonderful day's ride. Forty odd miles in superb Spring weather, started off 56°f soon got up to 70°f with blue sky's all the way. Half way enjoyed a pot of Earl Grey and fruit scone at Hutton Cranswick. I've attached photos of a pastoral nature, to give you all an idea of English village life - it's still going strong.

The first 8 pics are of Lund a village sitting in the Yorkshire Wolds. The church is All Saints. It was used in the 1954 film "Lease of Life" Robert Donat played the lead role of the village vicar, who's family lived frugally on a small Church of England stipend.

Followed by showing how the villages dressed themselves for the very recent Tour de Yorkshire Pro Stage Race, as it passed through (yellow and blue) are Yorkshire's colours.

Finally, UK wide bike routes and trails have been created by a cycling charity "Sustrans" These could be from local circular rides to nationwide routes. All are signed, you just have to keep your eyes open.
