DO those cast aluminum rims add much weight compared to spokes ?

The mags weigh about 20% more than a spoked wheel. My wife's Interceptor has spokes and I don't notice any difference in performance. It might be different if it weren't an e-bike though.

A couple of months ago I posted a photo of a bridge we rode over on a group 55k ride. That bridge has just now taken out the top award for pedestrian bridges, at the Institute of Structural Engineering Structural Awards in London

what river does it span?

I was hoping to get out early today to complete my 3000 target for the year but there was some ice around first thing so I decided to play it safe and wait until after 11am to set off, I managed 60 miles (1 mile for every year on planet earth:p) so I only have 21miles to go to reach my target :) If the weather plays ball I should complete it next weekend! It was only 36F today but it was still a very enjoyable trip, at one point the weather closed in and it looked like I was in for a soaking but I managed to avoid it for the most part and at least it didn't snow;) I forgot to take a close up of my flithy bike, sorry @Deeps:( :p next time ;)

You're so close!
I'm hoping I could hit 4,000 total miles by 12/31, but I do fear the weather here will not cooperate.
Today was a stunner, and put me 30 miles closer, but that still leaves 530 miles to go.

A ride I did earlier this season on the Pinkerton section of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) trail near Fort Hill, PA. The trail crosses the Cassleman River then immediately through the Pinkerton Tunnel and back across the Cassleman again. One of the few "bridge - tunnel - bridge" trail sections in the US.

Good luck with your weather, time is against you though! Not looking good for me next weekend...

Chris ...
My 6000 km goal falls midway between where you are now and 4000 miles. Maybe, reset for 6000 km. It'll still be a challenge but it's doable! And it comes with bragging rights of 500 km/month. When you've ticked that off, go for 4000 miles as planned! You might win twice.

Part of a gentle 15 km wander from home. These tracks run amongst the roadside verge from my block out into the mountains and beyond - with the choice of just riding the ( dirt) road when I get tired.
