Couldn't resist it. Weather forecast was for a few hours of sunshine and so riding gear on and off I went. Whilst I had planned a final tour of the season for just this eventuality, things didn't quite go according to plan and on completion I ended up naming the tour 'The most times lost and going around in circles tour'. Some will understand exactly what I mean - you pass a particular landmark in the forest and an hour later you're passing it again. I'm still trying to get my head around this COBI-bike hub thing that replaced the Intuvia up front. The route was planned and saved using Komoot and downloaded onto my Smartphone for offline use. Go to the Navigation panel in the COBI hub, choose Komoot and what pops up on the screen but words to the effect of that I am offline and that no tour information is available. Oops I think, wrong setting in the COBI app but NO, the switch is set to 'use offline maps' so where on earth was it. I replaced the Intuvia with the COBI believing that it would save me having to have yet another item hanging from the bars in the form of a Smartphone case and that the route would be clear to be seen on the screen. I'll post on the COBI Facebook page but if that doesn't throw any light on the problem that it's back to the Intuvia and Smartphone case I'm afraid.
Tomorrows exercise is a spot of cleaning as I underestimated just how loose the forest underground was following a night of rain. Looking at the pictures I've got the same amount smeared up my back. Oh well, the 31km ride was enjoyable despite getting dirty and deviating off course somewhat.
