An easier way to take off and install a tire:

cool just ordered a couple.

Did you get yours from that UK seller directly? Here in the USA its $14 to buy and $16 to ship. I'd try one out first and then buy a half dozen more if it works for me... but not really feeling $30 for one of them to start.

His hint to carry a little soapy water is really all you need with basic levers.

I really have trouble anymore with levers I just dont have a lot of arm strength so its worth a try.
I hear ya... Lately I find myself looking for my small strap wrench to open jars.
Maybe I'm missing something, but it looked to me that you still needed quite a bit of arm strength to push it through.. Better angle of attack?? Maybe??

ya your not trying to hold a lever straight. plus the lever is pretty much straight so it is lifting the tire up too.

pro tip on jars. Get a spoon (tool) and lightly lever the edge of a jar lid to release the vacuum inside. Lid comes off easy.

I'm not sure I like that method as you can potentially chip/break the glass and/or deform the lid. Also it's no help on something that has been already opened.
I've found that most of the time by just rubbing the top quickly with my hand creates enough friction/heat expansion of the metal top to release it.
When that fails..I have the small one in a kitchen drawer.

I actually have a little bit of Dawn in a makeup disc container for just this use. Its like a miracle if you spread some on the bead of the tire just before you lever it down. that and use your feet in addition to your hands to keep the other side of the tire from coming back up off the rim as you are trying to finish it off. :D

Bought these yesterday to keep one in my trail pack with my other emergency tools.
13, 14, 15 and 17mm.
I don't think it will get a lot of use, but when you (and others) are 30 KM from civilisation, it doesn't hurt to be prepared for "stuff".

The other one will go to my brother or into my car...
$17.50 for the pair.
