I almost forgot the obligatory bike shot . This bike has 6000 km now which is the amount my first ebike had when I tossed it in the garbage. You will have to pry my cold dead hands off of the grips of this bike.

And/or the use of thumbnails as a huge full size photo(s) take forever to get the page to open each time the page is viewed. People will look at the photos and I do not use so much data at the same time…..

I really enjoy this thread but use cellular data when remote….

On the contrary the single posts are nice because it’s easy to pinch zoom on the iPhone, especially the panoramic shots.

Yes! First time back in the water. We decided to stay local and try out a river cruise. American Cruise Lines gets great reviews and the boat we are on is practically brand new. Neither of us have ever been to Memphis or Nashville. I kinda like country music too!

Not to be alarmist but thought you ought to be aware of this. It’s in the news tonight that they had a boat run aground and get stuck. No injuries or anything but an inconvenience for the passengers. Came to mind about your post when I saw the story on the news. Here a link to the news story on YouTube:

Huge tidal variations in that area. I had read the other day they’ve estimated that billions of seashore creatures , mostly clams crabs barnacles and such , were killed by the immense heatwave during their exposure at low tide in PNW coastlines. They said it may take several decades for them to recover, but only if such an event does not occur again.

Yet another perfect cycling day, another fantastic ride on mostly lovely quiet roads! Not many photos today as I have posted a million photos from this area already this year and I don't want to bore you all with the same old pictures! Lots of ups and downs on this route, it really is so much fun and never gets boring! I did have one close pass by a woman that needs to learn how to pass cyclists, I'm sure she got my message and hopefully learned a lesson!

I have now covered 2,671 miles this year from 66 rides which gives me an average mileage of just over 40! My GPS is now showing 29,959 miles total which is from the end of 2011, I have now ridden 598 times which means my overall average is just over 50 miles! I expect to cover around 5,000 miles this year so by the end of 2021 my overall mileage should be around 32,000 miles which means my yearly average will be around 3,200 miles, not bad considering my low mileage from 2014 to 2017 due to illness! The big difference has been my e bike of course, life changing for sure!

On The Road Again….

Our mountain road cycling series continues as we ride through the David Thompson Corridor along picturesque Abraham Lake. Abraham attains it vivid hue from the rock flour in the water. It was created after the construction of the Big Horn Dam which was completed back in the early seventies.

We’ve travelled along this hwy by car many times over but have never cycled it up until now. It was a blistering 34C at the peak of the day and, unlike our ride to Castle Mt., there were no trees close enough to the road that could provide any shelter from the hot sun.

The Cline River flows east out of the glacial fed Pinto Lake and directly into Lake Abraham. Mt. Abraham creates a massive backdrop over the landscape.

This heli company flies tourists/hikers out from its convenient hwy location to points beyond.

About a week ago, we were heading over to Eastern Washington across the North Cascades Highway. I had my friend drop me at Washington Pass and I coasted down hitting speeds of up to 45 mph and then pedaled once I hit the flats and rolling terrain. The descent was a blast until I hit the lower elevations where it became a blast furnace. Some shots as I was descending.

A bike and two ferry outing in the Seattle-Puget Sound area. Pedaled to downtown Seattle and caught the Kingston Passenger ferry. Pedaling to Indianola and then had lunch in Poulsbo. Pedaled over the Agate Pass Bridge to Bainbridge Island and then to the Winslow Ferry back to downtown Seattle and home. About 53 miles and a bit under 3,000 feet of elevation gain on some pretty stiff hills.
