Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

@Prairie Dog Loved your video once again, shame about the antiquated rules...hope they get it sorted soon!
I can only speculate that some influential body had lobbied its demands through to the appropriate government channels to have e-bikes banned from most of the park trails with no clue as to how they’ve impacted those affected. We may have to ride in protest to see if a park ranger surreptitiously hops out from behind a tree with whistle in mouth and ticket in hand. 😉

I’m still waiting for an appropriate response from Parks Canada after I provided them with my contact details though I’m not holding my breath for a reply any time soon.

BTW, congrats on achieving that mileage mark. I can only imagine how much farther you could ride with a bit of cooler weather. 👍

This morning's 16 mile ride with 780 feet of gain. It was a strictly urban loop through north central Seattle. Highlights along the way were a small lending library (many are all over the place), Sunset Park with a view out of Puget Sound/Elliot Bay and the Olympic Mountains (National Park) in the background, Golden Gardens Park with a great low tide, Shilshole Marina with endless private pleasure boats, Lief Erickson and Rune Stones, The Ballard Locks and Greenlake about a mile from my house.

Havent been following the thread for a while, all been a bit mad.
Still isolatingish..but gonna have to get a bit more responsible.
Got a few symptoms and been feeling rough all week.

Were like a couple of lepers, funny how it hasnt touched us till now.

Nothing serious, just being sensible, sometimes not, but always miles from anyone since that Southport vid.

Hope youre all well, I cant smell a thing which handily includes my own armpits in this heat.

Us brits just cant take the heat, I'll admit I started catching up on the forum and its so goddam hot I just couldnt be arsxd..no aircon, stuffy head, even reading on my phone is a chore.

Moan over.

Got my steed tied up to the hitching post after a delightful lobster roll at Crave Lobster in Big Bear CA. There are so many great trails and paths around here. There are many riding the lift up the mountain with their mountain bikes and biking down. The CC is way too heavy for me to try that plus I think I read Class 1 only...

If you drive around to the north shore, there is a paved bike path at the boat launch area at Stanfield Cutoff that is good for a few miles. You can also take a dirt forest service road, 2N13 (AKA Snowslide), from Fawnskin to Green Valley Lake. Snowslide used to be the main road to Big Bear before they built highway 18.

Chargeride: You English have the famous rhyme: "Remember remember the fifth of November".
What I do remember is the seventh of April, 2013. We had -7 C on that day. Whenever I can feel it is a little bit too warm, I recollect the Seventh of April :)

So were you fully vaccinated and still got the Covid ?

So were you fully vaccinated and still got the Covid ?
Some people who are vaccinated will get COVID. But, over 95% of the people who are getting COVID are unvaccinated. And, the same percentages apply to those who are dying from COVID. Less than 5% of COVID cases are people who are vaccinated.

So, what's your point?

Yes..fully vacced...
Im not sure..Im getting repeat postive results from the home kits and my smell and taste have gone.
Head is blocked like a cold..I know covid and a cold are the same virus and can fool the test, but no cold has ever taken away my taste.
Or maybe its never been something I would think about...

The daughters partner developed full blown symptoms after his first jab and got proper test pos result..had to isolate.
Hes only 27 and was fine until the jab!!
Theres always going to be grey areas mixed with a bit of chinese whispers.
Anyway its cooler today.

Seeing a lot of folks getting virus illnesses as so many recently quit using masks and gathering in large groups spreading germs like crazy.
I was fully (COVID and flu) vaccinated. I was sick for two solid weeks coughing a ton, though no fever. The Dr. told me it was not COVID based on her experience. Got it from my grandson who was tested for everything and was deemed a really bad cold.

Well, my sister, full vacicnated in LA County, had a bad cold earlier this week. Since she takes care of her grandson, she decided to check with a Covid test in case it was a "break through." Results, well, it was NOT covid but it was another Corona virus, not just a common cold. Her doc recommended quarantine for a week. She's feeling much better. I did not think that they generally look for other corona virus strains!

I don't think the Covid virus is totally unique, just worse than the rest b/c it is so new to us.
