GenZe 101

Ok Ravi! This one is for you! I road this battery charge in pedal assist two.

Ok putting on the 29th. charge on the battery=63 miles!!! Second bar still comes up when I stopped .
All is good. I have forgot to put in that I have did the 1,400 mile chain clean and lube, and shift moving points. All is good. Keep looking up ! Ken.

63 miles!!
I wonder how far you'll go on a charge on some other bikes with more refined pedal assist.

Putting on the 30th. charge on the battery now=67 miles! The last bar was still solid, no flashing yet.
I do not know how far I can go no the last bar before it starts to flash. The first bar starts to flash after one mile and goes away after three. But the other three bars seam to last for about 20 or so miles, so I think the last bar should last around that far to. I just do not want to discharge the battery to much.
I thing I will be happy with 67 miles. No sense pushing it. All is good . Keep looking up! Ken.

Very impressive mileage per charge, you must have MUCH stronger legs than you let on!

Thank you JR. But I do not think this will continue ! Just wanted to see how it was to do a couple of charge cycles in pedal assist two. My legs are felling it. I think I will go back to assist three. A lot easier on the legs. Ken.

Putting on the 31th. charge on the battery now=67 miles. Last bar solid, not flashing yet. All is still running good. It is a lot more leg work, using pedal assist no.2, but I like the extra miles I get per charge.
Gives me over 10 miles every three days, to add on to my miles on the national bike challenge . Keep looking up! Ken.

GenZe sure could use your story.
Consider making some videos and sharing it? it could inspire many more who are on the verge.
How many times do we hear 60 ur old dude biking 60+ miles and having fun while doing it? ;)

Thank you Ravi, but I thing this long term review is about all that I will be able to do to help GenZe out. That videos stuff is way beyond me!
Thank you for all your kind words though. Keep looking up! Ken.

Putting on the 32nd. Charge on the battery now=66 miles! I was really surprised that I got that many miles this charge cycle.
I had to use the throttle mode twice to beat the rain storms.
I also used pedal assist no.5 too, but that does not make the bike go any faster, still about 13 or 14 mph. you just do not have to pedal so hard.
That is the only thing that I would tell GenZe to change on the bike so far. Is to make the bike to be able to do 20 mph. in pedal assist. Other that that I find this bike to a very good bike. Almost 1,700 miles and no problems. Keep looking up!

Putting on the 33rd. charge on the battery =70 miles. The LCD display showed that the last bar was still solid. Did not see it flash even one time. When I was getting the battery ready to hook up to the charger I checked the battery lights to see what they showed. It showed the red light for empty. I guess I will go back to the lows 60s again. That is alright with me!
Only 27 more days and this national bike challenge will be OVER!!! Yes Yes Yes!! Keep looking up ! Ken.

Putting on the 34th. charge now =64 miles. Second bar still flashing . The battery lights still show one green light. So I will keep it in the mid to low 60s as long as I stay riding in no.2 pedal assist. Only 24 more days until the bike challenge is OVER! All is good with the bike. Keep looking up! Ken.

Putting on the 35th. charge on the battery. Mr.JR. Made me do it. One ride. One charge.=50 miles. Still had the second bar flashing .
Used pedal assist 2 for the first 30 miles. #3 for the next 10 miles. And #5 for the last 10 miles. Even with using pedal assist 5 I was still ready to go home!
Took about 4 1/4 hours, stopped twice at the rest room at the boat dock, and 5 times to drink water, still in the low 90*s here yet. 3more months and we will have it made.
Keep looking up! Ken.

We better leave these big mile runs to the youngons like Ravi ;-)

Nice ride, took me about the same amount of time. I was going for the "mental recharge", not speed. Amazing how far a charge goes when you keep the speed reasonable!

Putting on the 36th. charge on the battery=63 miles. Last bar showing, still had one green light on the battery. I don't think it got fully charged last time.
Almost have 2,000 miles on it so I cleaned the chain and lubed it and the other moving parts. Checked it over for loose screws and parts and pices . All was good, adjusted the iner brake pads, front and rear.
Greased the pedal bearings, they did not need it, had greas in it from the factory. Makes me feel better about the bottom bracket bearings. I do not know anything about the torque censer at the bottom bracket, and I do not want to mess it up. There are no bike shopes around here that know any more about the GenZe then I do.
Keep looking up! Ken.

Ok, put on 2,000 miles on the odometer today!
Also had the first problem with it today too.
The bike was running just fine for the 19 miles it takes me to get to the boat ramp, where I always stop and take a drink from the water fountian. I always trun it off when I get there.
When I pushed the on button to leave, I started to pedal and it was hard to pedal. Looked at the LCD , and it was not on. Pushed the on button more, nothing. Moved some wires around , nothing. Oh no. Now what? Then I remembered on the Stromer forum, people talking they take their battery out and put it back in and their problem is fixed. So I took the battery out and put it back in and everything turned on and worked fine for the 4 miles back home !
Do not know what happened, do not know what fixed it. I turned it off and on 5 different times at home it worked good now.
Oh well one little glitch every 2,000 miles is ok with me!
Keep looking up! Ken.

Putting on the 37th. charge on the battery=56 miles. Had to cut the last ride short= Rain was on the move faster then I was. Just I little wet when I got home.
It was kind of fun watching the odometer click through the 1900s. I would see a years number come up and I would think about what I did that year! A lot more fun then just the sun beating down , car drivers messing with you, unfriendly bicycle riders. There was something else that bothered me this week to, but I can not think about it now. Oh Well.
Keep looking up! Ken.

Putting on the 38th. charge on the battery=69 miles! Second bar still flashing . Green light on, on the battery. All went good this charge cycle. Everything is good so far. Keep looking up! Ken.

Putting on the 39th. charge on the battery now=65 miles . Second bar just went out , just the last bar still up, green light on the battery. All is still good with the bike .
Only 10 more days left to TheNationalBikeChallange! Then I can go back to riding 20 miles, ONCE a DAY!! ( Like GOD intended it to be in the first place). Keep looking up! Ken:

Ken, not sure I've ever run into anyone who keeps track of the number of charge cycles. I'd like to learn why you do this.

Just so I can keep track of how the battery performs in the long run. And to let people know how the bike works in the long term! Keep looking up! Ken.

Battery life is calculated in terms of full cycles. Do you drain your battery completely before each charge?
