Dancing Angels or How to Count My Magnets?

Are the number of installed magnets on a 750w Bafang rear hub motor the same across all models using the same motor? I'm thinking--and therefore I'm guessing--it will be 8 or 12? Or is contacting the manufacturer (Cyrusher) my best bet----which I've done? A couple of the settings in programming the bike require this number.

Don't you also need the gear ratio of the motor. Most controller/displays I own want the product of magnets x gear ratio. This spec has a 750W bafang.
20 magnets
5:1 gear ratio
Product is 100, and I've been using that on my Bafang G60 motor since forever.

This is what the info in the controller setup says. Maybe I'm misreading what they're talking about?

7.6 Pas Magnetic Number Setting Short press the “MODE” button to enter the setting interface. The setting range is 5/8/12. It should be set according to the number of magnets disks installed on the E-bike. Press the “UP/DOWN” button to select a value, Default setting is 12. Long press the “MODE” button to confirm and return to the setting selection interface.

Those are the magnets on the circular ring on you bottom bracket that pick up signal from each revolution of the crank. The are either 5/8/12. More tends to be better.
