Compact fat tire bike w/torque sensor?

I'm interested in smaller fat-tire bikes such as the Rad Mini, Sondors Fold, M2S Scout, etc. Problem is, I'd prefer something with a torque sensor, and all of these options seem to solely use cadence sensors. Anyone know of a similar bike with a torque sensor? Incidentally, I don't necessarily need folding capability, just something with an altogether smaller footprint. Thanks.

But I don't see it offered by US importers and it has a internal gear system I wouldn't be fond of. QuietKat seems like they used to import it a few years ago but no longer.

I don't care if mid drive or hub drive, I just don't like cadence as much as torque after renting a few different ebikes this summer including rad, aventon, gazelle, and haibike to test the variations. I actually want to pedal and don't want the bike to just zoom up to a certain speed. I like to go on light trails and go slow if needed. With cadence you have to do tricks light tapping the brakes to activate the motor cutout. Or feather the throttle on pas 0 a lot

I'd actually prefer a folding to reduce the need for a bike rack on the vehicle. But mainly would like it smaller than things like the juiced rip current or rize rx.

Juice bikes make a smaller torque sensor based, but with the horrible seating position. I wish they'd release a normal small fatty, or someone would use their torque sensor in their own models.

Pedego has just released a small fat tire ebike, The Element.
It has 20" tires and lower price, around $1500.
Don't know if it has torque sensing. It has throttle-from-zero so no hesitation waiting for motor to kick in.
l am considering one mainly because it might fit inside my suv easier than the 28 and 29 inch wheeled ebikes that I currently own.
Our cycling season is winding down some maybe next Spring for a test ride.

Thanks for the responses. The Sobowo looks interesting. You'd think someone would be interested in offering that bike just to differentiate themselves from the competition. I hadn't given much thought to building a bike; maybe I'll start researching that as well (although I'm short on space and figuring out a work area will not be easy ). I will check out the Pedego as well.

Check out the Biktrix Stunner LT,the LT is the only Stunner with Torque Sensing!
you would want the size small, it has 20in Fat Tires, unfortunately they are sold out at the moment.

60lbs for my wife's version, the 20" x 4" fat tire. Scroll down to "detailed specifications" then under "bike geometry", 1st column is the small 20" version, last item in the table (#19) is the weight: https://www.biktrix.com/pages/stunner-lt-details

Take the battery off and you're about 8lbs lighter to lift. Drop the front wheel (quick release) to save even more if struggling to lift.

I know this is resurrecting a somewhat dead thread, but I keep looking for the holy grail here.

I see that Surface604 has a bike coming out called the twist, that will have a torque sensor: https://surface604bikes.com/products/2021-twist

I also checked in with Rize, who has other bikes with torque sensors and got this back "Torque sensors do not work well with 20" wheels, which is the size of wheels we use on our folding range. Because of this we will continue to use cadence sensors on the folding bikes coming out in our 2021 refresh. " I found this a bit odd, as there are other bikes out there such as this "Twist" and Juiced Bikes.

Not finding anything else yet.

The response from Rize is indeed odd. Other companies like Tern, GoCycle, and Evelo are offering bikes with 20" wheels and torque sensors, although those bikes don't have fat tires.

It’s very intriguing especially the weight. I was looking at specs and their website showed this info the 18” med/large frame:
FOR RIDERS 5'2" - 8'8"

OMG, an 8 foot 8 inch person riding a 20” folding bike!!
Clearly a typo but it certainly brings a fascinating image to mind.

The surface 604 swift intrigued my interest but it does not come with suspension; is this a positive or negative?

Is it still a good buy without suspension?

If it has fat tires then front suspension is less of a need, but can still improve ride comfort depending on the variables of rider weight and road surface etc. There are some folks who prefer a rigid fork over a suspension fork because it suits their needs and riding styles better. A cheap, heavy, coil suspension vs a lighter rigid fork on a fat tire bike that is going to be ridden on paved surfaces and the occasional groomed trail by a light to medium rider is not something to necessarily pay extra for. The rigid fork and a little less pressure in the tires will likely be good enough.

@indca there is no Swift in the Surface 604 line up, there is a Swift in the Biktrix range though. If you don't need a folding bike, the Biktrix Stunner LT is available in a 20" model that uses torque sensor.

With the surface 604 twist, it only has 500w motor. Which do you think is the more valuable bike between this, with torque sensor and 500w, vs Sondors fold XS with cadence sensor and 750w motor plus suspension fork? They are priced the same. How much roughly would it cost to upgrade the Twist to 750w vs upgrading the Fold to torque sensor? Thanks
