Bankruptcy and exiting markets

Tell me about it. Rocky Mountain bikes are in trouble, laying off and restructuring. I love mine But it has a proprietary motor. GT bikes recently did the same thing. Both these companies are long standing and well thought of. But hey, these are crazy days.
Stay away from ebike propritary systems. When they go out of business, or discontinue product lines, it can be very difficult for repairs

Whatever the product is, use a payment method that offers protection if you don't receive the item. PayPal that offers "buyer protection", that will refund your money if you don't receive the item or it's not as described, or a credit card with fraud protection, check the fine print that comes with a card. For me I use PP for just about all my online purchases.

Good point and they didn't get any cheaper. I was offered a second battery from Crazy Lenny's for $550.00 when I bought the bike. Two years later, the price from BH tech support was $800.00. As a side note, Crazy Lenny's went out of business too, for a double whammy. Not fun.
Crazy Lenny’s in Madison Wisconsin? If so, they are still open. Not 100% sure, but they may have a new owner.

I went to Crazy Lennys in Madison back in 2015 and bought an EG Maui, a simple hub motor bike with generic compnents, I gave it to my sister, but it still runs well on the original battery, We met Lenny back then, Also visited his shop on the West Orange bike trial in Florida. He retired around age 80 in 2022. Feel like being a part of history buying an ebike from one of the legendary retailers.
