Bag that actually fits the Delite rack?

Following another thread here, I bought a Racktime Odin with built in adapter, but it doesn’t come even remotely close to fitting the rack on my Delite Mountain.

Can anyone recommend a bag that just snaps into the rack out of the box? Or some combination of things to accomplish that?

Is you rack a Racktime or MIK system. If it is Racktime they have two standard widths racks. The adapter on the bottom of the bag can be adjusted to either width.

Don’t know. I do know that I have a racktime bag now and even with adjustments, it doesn't come anywhere near fitting. Here’s a photo of my rack, are you able to tell?

From the photo the rack is neither Racktime or MIK. Look at the Ortlieb Trunk bag, it wraps around the rails and should fit.

From what I’ve read, that bag’s attachment system has a poor reputation, especially on tougher terrain.

Still looking for any alternatives.

I use a velcro strap on Topeak on the delight mountain as it does not have any accommodation to MIK or Racktime systems.

That makes me so sad. I really wanted a bag that can just snap in/out. Why is it so hard for bike manufacturers to stop shipping racks that don’t support this?

Alaskan what sort of velcro strap did you use?

There are four straps integral to the Topeak DXP trunk bag with fold out panniers, very easy and quick to mount

I had trouble finding a quick attach bag that would fit my Pedego rear rack. I use the Bontrager / Electra interchange system on my Trek MTB's and made a simple adapter that lets me use the Bontrager bag on my Pedego.

I bought a Bontrager rear rack and cut the top off it as shown:

Using these insulated cable clamps,

I attached the top of the Bontrager rack to the Pedego rear rack as shown:

The rack "adapter" is sturdy, easily removable and doesn't mar the bikes original finish.

It lets me use my Bontrager bags along with the panniers designed for the Pedego rack.

The concept will work with almost any type rack and bag mounting system.

One option you might consider, especially if you don't feel compelled to look like one of the Cool Kids, is to use a Grocery Bag Pannier on the drive side of your bike. They can carry quite a bit, are inexpensive, and usually come with a shoulder strap so you can carry them off your bike. They usually are extremely easy to put on the bike and remove (usually it takes like five seconds).

If you need to keep things dry, toss them in a dry bag and load them into the pannier.
