When I first got my Vado SL, I was amazed at how easily I hit 28 mph, and I barely felt the extra effort to 35! Then I realized it was set for kph and not mph, and I wasn’t going any faster than about 22 mph. I’ve got to build up some stamina.
#1, Rider 51 is in the USA where the SL has assist up to 28 mph.
#2, if I’m not mistaken, after that 28 mph the bike won’t assist any more than at 28 mph, but it doesn’t shut off completely. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
My wife got to ride her new Vado SL on Xmas eve day and it was glorious here on the Monterey Peninsula. In retrospect I should have included her step-through bike in the picture, but I was in awe of the view (including her! ;^)). I'll get pictures of our bikes together another time. If I knew...
I've been loving my TV SL 5.0, but felt bad going on rides with my wife with her riding a 30 year old Specialized Crossroads. She does well until the hills, but then she sometimes has to get off and hike. She's stubborn, and didn't want to pay out for another expensive bike (after mine) since we...
What type of a lock did you use on your Trek that was stolen, and was it cut? Locked to a secure spot? Time of day? I'm trying to judge if/how a bike is ever reasonably safe for going into a shop for a coffee or quick lunch.
Good to know. I’ve just got my VadoSL5, so I’m going to give the stock saddle more time. If I decide to upgrade, this will be high on my list to check out. Thanks.
The custom fitting bench/station in the video looks cool, but figuring out the right fit at home doesn’t seem very easy for getting an accurate measurement.
If you have an iPhone and you know you’re going on a long ride, you can set it to “Low Power Mode” in the battery setting (not sure if Android phones have that, but I would assume so). When I had an older phone with shorter battery life, I used to bring along a power bank (Anker) and keep the...
I know this post was from a while ago, but I'm looking for a carry-pump for my Vado SL 5.0 and the Topeak Racerocket HP (160) is around, but I can't find the regular Racerocket (120 PSI) locally. Any reason why the regular is "most suited" vs. the HP?
Should you want a wider grip, can you push the Ergon extensions down? Granted that would defeat their “extra” grip, but it seems like it would allow a different change (to a wider grip).
Ergon grips look like a great upgrade as I have some arthritis and extra hand cushion/support/positions could help (and would also allow a bar-end mirror). The GP4s might be more to my liking, but I’ll also have to decide on small vs. large. My hand is approx. 7 1/4” from the bottom of my palm...
