Is it possble to covert 26x4 to 3 onch tire and rim combo

Information about the Velocity Dually:

Also, keep in mind all our rims are drilled for a 14g nipple. We tend to use Sapim E-Strong spokes with the reduction nipples. 12g at the elbow bend and 13g at the nipple end. The reduction nipples have a 13g thread but the OD is the same as a 12g nipple. Also, we recommend getting tension close to 120kgf.

Do you know if that's for connecting the rim to a fat motor?

That's my whole issue with my wheel.

I might be better off talking to Grin and asking them if there is something specific that they can sell me to connect some sort of wide (semi-fat) 27.5" rim to a Bafang Fat Motor, with all the parts included (Presta valve, rim tape, spokes, nipples)

I don't want to mess up my order or try to figure out the spoke calculations.

(I'll have to try and take some accurate measurements of my unlabeled motor to make sure it's the same as a standard Bafang Fat Motor.

Grin is Canadian, so I wouldn't have to deal with all the tarrif crap.

(Import duties are charged at delivery. It could be twenty bucks or two hundred and twenty bucks??)

That was his reply after I told him I was going to hook the rim up to a Hentach motor with around 2000w. I would not take that as a specific suggestion but more as guideline.

Would he be able to sell you everything that you'd need to swap your rims, or just the rim.

$289 USD is $400 CAD plus premium spokes and nipples and whatever else, plus shipping, tax, duty, tarriffs.

I could be approaching $1000 CAD for a rim and spokes?

You'd have to check with them.

I checked out Grin and they only have two double wall rims, and they're for bicycles.

I think I might just go with the U663 and proper DT Swiss spokes for it?

It's gotta be better than what I got going on with my wheel, even if only by using better quality components more suited for the job?

I took another picture of my bendy spokes,..

And for reference, I used a "regular" MTB wheel to mount my 27.5" x 2.8" Super Moto-X tire.

It's on the front of my 100# ebike now.
It's been fine for thousands of km.

And this is my 29" wheel beside my wider (externally) original rim,..

I'm gunna remove my tire from my wider original rim and check the internal diameter to compare with the DT Swiss

And remember,..
Another dollar spent is just another BUCK LOSt 😁

The spokes on my wired ebikes are atrocious. You should see the bends in them. Even the spokes on my 600# yamaha motorcycle cross and touch, and bend. While tensioning spokes, tightening one pushes the other out.

That is Velocity who I emailed about their rim with the questions.

The Velocity website linked me to Canadian distributors, then I could only find the 27.5" rim with 32 holes again.

I purchased the rims through pro wheel builder.

I guess I need to find a Canadian wheel builder or supplier of Velocity 27.5" 36 hole rims.

That's a whole other rabbit hole to jump into.

LOTS of 32 hole available, so I'd have to special order because the dealers only seem to offer what they have in stock?

I'd like the wider interal diameter with my "donut" tires, but I think you'd be fine with the DT Swiss with its 30mm internal diameter (if it's cheaper for you than Velocity?) with the Schwalbe Pickup 27.5" x 2.3" mounted on it?
It wouldn't be as ballooned as my tire, and it wouldn't be as tall, which is what you want anyway.

Not available in 36 hole drilling,..

I'd have order directly from Velocity at $400 CAD

Ain't worth it.

I'm going with DT Swiss for $84 CAD if I do it.

I can have it drilled for a Schrader valve, and maybe 12 guage too?
