Which is better to buy for a new bike?

Schwalbe Marathon Plus.....Big Ben....Energizers.......Continental Gatorskins....Grand Prix......Contact Plus.....etc....

From what I see on the testing/rating sites it's hard to beat the Marathon Plus. Pricey but there are sites like Chain Reaction Cycles that sell them at a discount, I've never had a flat with one yet.

From what I was able to find...they have basic protection but there are better tires out there. For example I have Schwalbe Big Ben Plus’s on my ebike. Both the regular and the Plus have better protection than the Fat Franks.

Google! I gave you what is usually considered the best site. Continental sell some good tires as well at half the price of Schwalbe.Tires are all trade offs, more protection means more weight, higher rolling resistance, and a stiffer sidewall which means a harder ride (usually). I believe Marathon Plus has the highest puncture protection but might lack in other areas you consider important.

My 2 cents-One of the hacks on YT actually had a flat inner tube, and simply found the hole and cut it in half and tied both ends of the tube and put it back into his tire and 'claims' he was able to use this method as a temporary fix to get on his way. Not sure if it will work on wider MTB tubes though...
