I remember that chart.

You've got one less bar than me as an Urban-SUV, but one more bar than me as an All-Road-SUV.

And my Hurricane has one less bar than than your tire as an Urban-SUV, but has one bar as an Off-Road-SUV.

Apparently the transition into cornering mode on asphalt can be a little tricky with the Hurricane on the pavement,.. 😂

How do you know the transition to cornering on asphalt is tricky with the Hurricane? Is the super moto X better for this? And why does the big ben plus tread look exactly like the super moto x tread? Is the allgrounder less competent on pavement or the same as super moto X... I get confused by Schawalbe treads and descriptions

Al Grounder is 3 bars on pavement where Moto X is 4...win Moto X but I can vouch that the Al G' is competent and quiet.
The Al Grounder adds a little off road use where the Moto X has none.
Previous tire was Johnny Watt and I found they suck on pavement. Easily lost traction in tight corners or aggressive braking.

How do you know the transition to cornering on asphalt is tricky with the Hurricane?

From what I read in a review of the tire on Amazon, and it just makes sense to me.

I used to corner like in that picture on my street bike, but I couldn't do it on my dirt bike or any pedal bike that I owned.

I never did try that Hurricane tire because it's on a 29" wheel that only fits a set of inverted air forks that won't fit my new ebike.

I'm pretty sure that I'd be too nervous to get anywhere near the transition zone with that tire because leaning into corners on my e-bike freaks me the hell out (😂) because it feels too much like a bicycle.

I've done it a few times with my e-bike with the Super Moto-X tires, but if you're pullin G's around a corner and you lose your grip, you're going down Hard. 😂

Is the super moto X better for this?

Better than the Hurricane I guess?

And why does the big ben plus tread look exactly like the super moto x tread?

It's pretty much the same tread pattern, but it's a much narrower tire,..

I get confused by Schawalbe treads and descriptions

Yeah, some tires are only available in certain sizes.
I wanted 26" Super Moto-X tires, but there is no such beast.

I took the liberty of downloading all the different tire choices from this list,..

For @Tars Tarkas 's sake, I will leave them as attachments. 😂

Thanks for posting that.. I agree, just looking at the hurricane and thinking about leaning over in a corner looks like it might be a little scary with that tread pattern. The only problem with your chart is that it doesn't show compatibility on pavement or I guess that's what they consider "urban-suv" but I ride mostly pavement but don't consider my bike to be an SUV by any means

I'm kinda liking this G1 All Around tire,..

I think it's a tubeless tire (Seal type: TLE?), but I'm pretty sure I can still stuff a tube in it for my leaky rims?

It reminds of the Vee Tire Speedster that I wanted to buy a couple of years ago but it was Completely sold-out everywhere and is still sold out on their website.

It would fit my new e-bike.
I like the low rolling resistance of the Speedster.

If the G1 All Rounder is as sticky as the Speedster tire, then you could corner it on pavement like a motorcycle.

You could maybe.
I don't have the nerve for that anymore. 😂

I'm kinda thinking that an ebike is a lot more of an SUV than your basic bicycle so the SUV thing might sort of be a class of tire?

I figure buying an E-speed rated tire is a good idea for my 85 pound ebike.

Actually, the Hurricane tire I have is a "bicycle" rated tire, and it's so thin, that I can almost see through it. 😂

I wouldn't feel comfortable using it on my e-bike unless I carried a spare tire with me.
Folding tires are certainly better for their portability.

I tried to click on the E bike or Moped options for the tire when I took the screens shots.

I’ve had Mondials rated at E25 whatever that means for over 7000 miles with their Plus tubes. I ride mostly local rural roads…mostly chip seal…no flats…and I rarely need to check tire pressure.

Just noticed a small bulge in the sidewall of my front tire. What do you guys think? It's maybe bulging 1/16". I only noticed it because of the ripple in the reflective stripe

I'm guessing with such a small bulge in my tire it's safe to ride? I'd hate to have a front blow out at 30mph though. Most info I can find on speed rating for the super moto x is that it's rated for "high speeds"

Replaced my factory Chao Yang off road tires with the Michelin City Grip2 after getting a 2+ inch nail right through the tire, Tannus liner, and tube. Noticably better handling on the road (which is the only place I ride) with the City Grip2 tires. FWIW, if anyone else is thinking about doing this, and wants to continue running a tube, get the 3 inch tube. A 2.5-3.0 inch tube does a lot of stretching to fill the space, and the 4 inch tube that comes with the factory tire is too big to fit inside the much thicker City Grip2 scooter tire. Performance wise, they're heavier, less compliant, and slightly smaller (total diameter) than the factory tires. This means the ride is more harsh, but quieter, and it knocks about 1-2 k/h off my top end speed. But it's been couple of months now and no flats!, so the trade off is worth it IMO. At some point I'll upgrade the shocks from the 400lb monsters that are on there now (might as well be a hard tail) to something better suited to my 165lbs.

I have a RIZE RX ebike that came with Kenda knobbies.
,.. I just had my local shop install Schwalbe super motor X tires and the difference is phenomenal.

I just realized that I had the same tires on my e-bike then put the same Super Moto-X tires on, so I thought I'd post some comparison pictures,..

I only rode the e-bike for a 20 minute test ride before swapping tires, so I don't have much to compare to, but the Havoc tires remind me of my dirt bike tires. Durable and heavy and built for biting into dirt, but seem like they need A Lot of energy to do it.

I've put 3800 km on the Super Moto-X tires and they have worked fine for me.
Even in the dirt, I could manage fine by simply slowing down and avoiding the mud.
Off-road trails like this were fine,..

One weird thing I noticed about the tire, is that once in a while I would fling a stone off the side of the tire, and it kinda sounded like a 🏀 bouncing. 😂

You know the sound.
I never heard that sorta sound from Any tire on Any vehicle before. 😂

I think it sounds 😎
It's the sound of Schwalbe Quality. 😂

Just noticed a small bulge in the sidewall of my front tire. What do you guys think? It's maybe bulging 1/16". I only noticed it because of the ripple in the reflective stripe

I had the same thing happen to a car tire about 10 years ago.
There was a bulge in the sidewall about 1½" across and ¾" high.
The rubber had delaminated from the tire casing and it didn't look good.
I could press the bulge in with my fingernail.

I had a set of tires ordered but they hadn't arrived yet, so the shop actually put a used tire on the rim for me to get me by until my set of new tires arrived.
It was that bad.

I don't think your tire delaminated because I'm pretty sure that the Super Moto-X tires are only for tubes? and that kinda bulge shouldn't happen?

You've probably got a bit a a factory flaw, where the layers of tire casing aren't evenly mated together?

Try digging your fingernail into the bulge and see how it compares to the rest of the tire.

If it's just a little mis-shaped and doesn't create any sort of wobble, then you're probably OK?
But it is a brand new tire and Schwalbe is supposed to stand behind their products.

Maybe a trip to the LBS is a good idea 💡

That may be a safety issue?
