New tires

Yeah it feels like the rest of the tire, it doesn't feel weak in that area, it's a very small bulge but it still bothers me. I've messaged the online seller but no reply yet. I'm going to bring the wheel into the local bike shop and have a pro give me his diagnosis. There's no wobble or anything and the bulge stops well before the top tread. It's maybe bulging out 1/16" so maybe I'm just paranoid but when I rub my finger over it, there's definitely a bulge.

The bulge is visible in the picture even without clicking on the thumbnail.

That makes sense.
It would bother me too.
A professional opinion would help.

Maybe, just for the heck of it, try using a needle as a pointer to follow the installation line around the tire to make sure that the distance between the line and the rim is exactly the same all around the tire.

If you have a bulge, that might translate into a slightly bigger circumference at that spot, so you might have a high spot in the center of the tread at the bulge ?

When I installed my tires, I didn't have them seated properly and my tire was as wobbly AF ! 😂

It took me quite a while to notice that the installation marker line was off by a mm or so.
It was a mm too much on one side while being a mm shy on the opposite side, and it alternated back and forth warping the center of the tread all over the place.

I couldn't see the misalignment by eye, and had to use a sharp pointer beside the wheel while spinning the wheel.

I'll do that. I had the bike shop install them but I didn't expect them closely when I picked them up. The bulge could have been there after the install or after one of my rides, I don't know. I didn't hit any curbs or anything. Max pressure is listed at 65 psi and I have them inflated to 60 psi so they were never over inflated. They showed 50 psi when I picked them up. Amazon says I'm outside of the return window. I bought the tires last Sept. but didn't have them installed until a few weeks ago.

I've had car tires that had "warps" in the sidewall where two layers of tire casing overlapped creating a "detent" instead of a bulge.

I'm pretty sure that all tire casings are built using sheets if material that get wrapped a few times then have to have the ends overlap.

Even my fat bike rim is a straight piece of metal that is formed into a circle then joined together with a seam.

I think carbon fiber rims are seamless and use miles of carbon fiber wrapped into a circle so you never see a bulge from any overlap?

They might have forged alloy rims that are one piece? (That aren't necessarily one piece spoke less rims)

I'm not sure about the wire bead inside the tire?
I think it's a single strand of wire that gets wraps around a bunch of times and gets weaved together?

My Super Moto-X tires are 27.5" X 2.8" semi-fat tires, so they inflate from 20-45 PSI.
And I don't have the shiny white reflective stripe.

I remember reading that the white stripe doesn't stick to a tubed tire (or vice versa, and doesn't stick to a tubeless tire?)

FWIW, I contacted the Amazon seller about the bubble in my Schwalbe super moto x tire. Since I bought the tires last Sept, I'm well past the return window. The seller suggested I contact Schwalbe north America which I did... I filled out their online warranty form with copius pictures that they wanted, and other various detailed information. I was then told it could take 5 business days to receive a reply.. Within a few hours I got an email telling me they would cover the tire and they sent me a code to use for a free replacement plus shipping.. What a great company. I may have paid a premium for a Schwalbe tire but it's paying off in the long run.
