This is an ingenious way of solving problem that most DIY builders encounter.
Some of the bikes come with really good Shimano Saint or XTR brakes but they may not have motor cutoff Higo connectors. You could get Magura MT5e with motor cutoff but you have to purchase the whole assembly and this adds up to the cost.
For those who want to keep the stock brakes, here is a neat solution. "Trip Wire" from Grin tech.
From rim brakes to Mech disc to Hydraulic disc, this is supposed to work with everything.
