These shots were taken pausing just long enough to capture the storm clouds moving in on what was supposed to be an extended ride around the countryside on a very warm, sunny afternoon, but ended up being a quick "around the block and back".
The clouds were white and puffy and there was copious amounts of blue skies above when I left home. Honestly. By the time I decided the heat was a bit much and I was no longer enthusiastic about going further down the road, the skies had turned into the picture above.
I was 1 mile from home when the clouds began to release a few advance raindrops. I pulled into the garage just as the sparce drips suddenly turned into a torrent. I turned around to stare out the open garage door at the pounding rain just as a rumble of thunder shook the landscape.
Never was I so glad to listen to my gut when it told me to postpone planned ride for another day, and to head home.
But I did get two awesome pictures!
