It sucks riding in the wet and here’s hoping that you can squeeze a few more rides in over the following week. If it’s of any consolation, the shoulder seasons here can be pretty brutal too.To be honest, that 83kms is three rides... a 60/8/15, so yeah, the last two were shorties inbetween downpours.
Good to see your roads opening up!
Sure, rub more salt in the wound. While you're at it, can you radio one of those choppers to pick me up and then drop me off at the beach...preferably near one of those palm trees.here is some pixs from SOCali
Really like the first 2 sculptures — cool geometries.Went for a ride in Grand Bay-Westfield today, to check out some stone sculptures, plus the bandstand. Everything looks so much better without snow--now if it would just green up.
What Fox fork is that I just installed a Fox 36E factory on bike and wow while I haven't had a chance to really get after it the word smooth comes to mind.I went and gone ride Pearl Harbor Bike Path. Setting on riding the entire length 15 miles and back. But the sky started to turn gray. Weather is unpredictable here on the Island. I chicken out and turned around at the 5 mile marker.
There are many streams that flows into the harbor. I figure it would be an interesting theme for my Sunday ride to photograph my bike on bridges that crosses these streams.
Low tide on south shore of Mc Grew Point. There were lots of oysters free for the taking but not edible there are signs posted saying do not eat shell fish. I may go back for mangoes tho. Tree is freaking loaded this season.
I took a detour and went to Palama Market in Pearl City to buy Korean rice cake and a shot of 8oz Red Bull.
Just chilling now. Drinking Stolichnaya.
Then remove and replace chain on Da Ridiculous Bike.
Your bike is looking amazing! I hope you get some decent weather to really enjoy it soon!View attachment 151772
These shots were taken pausing just long enough to capture the storm clouds moving in on what was supposed to be an extended ride around the countryside on a very warm, sunny afternoon, but ended up being a quick "around the block and back".
The clouds were white and puffy and there was copious amounts of blue skies above when I left home. Honestly. By the time I decided the heat was a bit much and I was no longer enthusiastic about going further down the road, the skies had turned into the picture above.
I was 1 mile from home when the clouds began to release a few advance raindrops. I pulled into the garage just as the sparce drips suddenly turned into a torrent. I turned around to stare out the open garage door at the pounding rain just as a rumble of thunder shook the landscape.
Never was I so glad to listen to my gut when it told me to postpone planned ride for another day, and to head home.
But I did get two awesome pictures!View attachment 151773
Thank you. I have to take it to the shop tomorrow for another tweak of the gearing. ATM I'm spinning at too high a cadence in the gears for my liking. I had been trying to get acclimated to the difference between this bike and it's identical twin, but the unmatched gear ratios are just making me uncomfortable instead. I want them to feel the same so that switching from one bike to the other is seamless.Your bike is looking amazing! I hope you get some decent weather to really enjoy it soon!
Love the clouds on the water! Riding by water is always a blessing. Riding in water, not so much.Went for a spin to Brandy Point today.
