There is no way I went that fast! Not even down the ski hill roads. The Bikespeed RS works great and I would never go back to 30kmh max but it must have bumped up the top speed readout somehow?. Has anyone else have that happen? Previously the fastest I have gone down that hill was about 80 kmh . Even though this bike feels extremely stable at speed I doubt that reading .

Fifty miles today, should have been warm (it was) sunny (yes it was) dry? (got dumped on at 22 miles) temp dropped by 10°f for 30 mins. It very quickly warmerd up again, so instead of short cutting it, I decided to continue - glad I did. A few pics for you of very flat East Yorkshire that is called "Holderness Plain" it begins at the Eastern edge of Hull and continues to the coast. I live at 19 feet above sea level, during the ride I dropped down to -3 feet and was never higher than 56 feet, appropriately at the village called RISE. The population of Holderness is greatly outnumbered by the density of pigs bred for export (the quality apparently is highly regarded) no guessing then how the Doomesday Book village of Swine got it's name? Attached are pictures of Swine church, not too far away is the seat of the Constable family (not the artist) Burton Constable Hall sits in thousands of English pastoral countryside. It's now open for public tours. Finally, not many things nicer than? An English pub alongside a canal on a summer's day. They do a fabulous pint here called "mixed "Half bitter and half mild" It's an old man's drink, got the taste from my Dad. Youngsters and the majority of pubs today, have never heard of it! Pity them. Notice the cream phone box. Only in the Hull area will you see this, the telecoms is still in private hands, taking it over from the City Council who ran it for decades separate from the GPO.

Stayed at their campground (Mobile Homes & Caravans only) for 2 x 4 weeks in both 2014 and 2015. Very nice especially the pub across the road - The Wyvill Arms.

Took my BMW Cruise in for its first service at 640 miles and learned that I'd let the chain got too dry and my rear derailleur had gotten a little bent ($180 for the tuneup and the new chain). I did 37 miles today on a cross between a commute and a workout from Durham NC to the southern edge of Cary, NC.
Ostensibly, I was riding there to meet students, but took the American Tobacco trail (ATT) there and back and discovered the Cary Greenway trail which is a spur to the ATT. It turns out to be one of the longest boardwalks for bikes I've ever seen as it goes over a fairly marshy area. You can see that they're using space below the freeways in the one picture. The bags in the photo are an Ortlieb handlebar bag and their briefcase pannier which I use for carrying my laptop. It had rained the night before and it was threatening to rain again, so it was surprisingly cool for this time of year and the air was unusually clean. Definitely much nicer than driving there and back.

I wasn't expecting to get a ride this weekend due to the abysmal weather forecast which for the most part turned out to be correct! Very wet and very windy but luckily it actually subsided this afternoon and with the strong winds the roads dried very quickly and I managed to cover just over 40 miles in 2 hours and 20 minutes which takes my 2019 total to 1585 miles! Amazingly I actually arrived home with a clean bike which is always a bonus

Your average speed today is almost exactly twice as high as mine. I did 52 miles in 6 hours
I stopped for lunch and I don’t mind slowing down uphill as I’m still trying out what range I can get. I also get lost now and then and that’s not good for average speed

Oh, and a note for folks in the Pacific Northwest -- on a busy, sunny Sunday when the upper Methow Valley was inundated with tourists, on a 2.5 hour ride on the Gold Creek Road I saw exactly one car and two dirt bikes.

The road was in pretty good shape, although there are a few badly eroded sections and the upper miles of the road can be slippery. But in general there is great riding there that nobody knows about.

We were just up riding the Conconully side of Buck Pass. Maybe 5 vehicles went by? We failed to make it to the pass. My friend's bike was having some problems again so we had to turn around. I feel a bit beat up.

We visited the Sit N Bull for sustenance afterwards.
