Pootling around Brisbane on New Year's Eve…
It's high summer in subtropical Brisbane and the trees are standing in their own shadows.
… David

I'm feeling somewhat envious of the weather there! (And the scenery's great, too.) I managed a 10-mile ride on New Year's Day, because it reached 60f here. But I was actually sick, and have been, for a week now... two days missed work this week; today's the first day back, but I opted to drive rather than bike in, cuz while I feel far better today than at the worst of it, I still don't feel 100% yet. I'm really, really hoping I'm close to 100% by Sunday morning since it will be a clear, dry, low 50's here, and I'm sort of going crazy having had 6 otherwise bikeable days slip past me!

The weather forecast turned out to be accurate so no ride today:( I was looking back at some of my rides from earlier in the year and this one sticks out as it was such an incredible trip, breathtaking scenery around the Trossachs in Scotland:) It was one of those days I didn't want to end hence the 117 miles:)
@KiwiUKmike Amazing pics, truly stunning scenery:)

great pics @RabH they remind me of our trip last july Glasgow-Inverness(lochs+glens route) the northern section nonn e-bike though

Not the nicest day for a bike trip but at least it wasn't icy so off I set, normally this trip would be incredibly scenic but the scenery was hidden by the mist and fog! Not to worry though, it was still enjoyable to get out there, 67 miles in January is a bonus :D 117 miles covered this year already and its only Jan 6th, only 3883 miles more for my target;)

Today's cycle along the Aqueduct Trail and Diamond Creek trails. A beautiful day in Melbourne. Diamond Creek was not named because it sparkles like diamonds. Far from it. It was named after a bull "Diamond" owned by an early settler in these parts.

I think the mist and fog gives the scenery some quality. Looks like a lovely ride. Well done.

West Orange bike path in Florida. Starts in Apopka and we turned around at WInter Garden. Had a mishap where my cheap saddle bags split and spilled our spare batteries (which we didn't need as we only went 28 miles round trip). I sewed them up in our rental.

It's like the rest of Florida. Some parts we passed are poverty stricken. Others are loaded with money. A lot of intersections to cross south of Apopka. Was surprised to pass by Crazy Lenny's Florida shop. We were told he's still back in Wisconsin.

If we were back in Illinois, it was 50F this weekend. Probably would have been riding too. Here, it was in the 70's.
