Just picked up my new Riese & Müller Vario HS in Evanston Illinois. This morning was my first real ride. Rode along the trails in the far north suburbs of Chicago and Ft. Sheridan. This is fun!

I just discovered this thread and it took me a few days to get through most of it. I actually skipped many pages and it still took me a few days. I think it's cool and was going to post pics, but given I live in the Vancouver area there's no point since there area already so many pictures of the area with a number of posters living here as well.

It seems like on this forum there are quite a few people in the Vancouver area. I wonder, is that related to Grin being here and thus more people on ebikes? Maybe it's some other factor like our mild climate and the bike infrastructure which is pretty good.

Thank you very much Steve. Funny thing is that my membership of this forum celebrates its first anniversary today as well. ( Did I hear a drumroll?)
The weather will be mostly sunny and temp around 23°C this afternoon so a ride will be the major part of the celebrations.
My memory from my childhoods birthdays is that they were sunny and now my e-bike gives me pleasure in a childish way. You know the feeling getting your first real bicycle and suddenly the world opened up, you could go almost anywhere. The agility and quick acceleration when riding in town also brings a kind of childish pleasure I must admit.

Yesterday it was a 40 mile group ride from Bellingham out to Lynden and back. Mostly roadies with a few ebikes sprinkled in. The public restrooms there has a tire pump and bike tool station along with a mini windmill celebrating Lynden's Dutch heritage.

Perfect cycling weather today but I had commitments in the afternoon, so I got out early and had a very enjoyable 65 mile trip I'm getting close to 5000 miles on my Giant Road E now and it continues to put a big smile on my face with every ride Not many photos today because I was pushed for time!

RabH what is the longest distance you have achieved on a single battery on that bike?

Alaskan, I've found those screen shots very interesting. Is that a specific Riese & Muller app for your bike? I really like the breakdown of how much power comes from the motor and how much comes from the rider. I'm a bit of a data geek, so I find the ability to get all that data really cool. Though I'm not sure if I like it enough to buy a R&M, those bikes are pretty pricey.

It is not a Riese & Muller thing but rather a Bosch thing. It is data saved to and uploaded to the Bosch Ebike Connect portal from a Bosch Nyon display. I’ve owned a magnum metro for about a year. It was a great way to fall in love with eBikes. This weekend I broke in my new Riese & Müller Homage. This bike even improves on the great fun of the magnum and takes it to a phenomenal new level on virtually every front. This shot was in the Chicago Botanical gardens (which is in Glencoe, Illinois.)

Well my longest ride is 152 miles but the first 70 miles were covered with no assist! I have managed 100 miles a few times by just using eco mode, I mostly only use assist into headwinds and on climbs though!

Wow 152 in one day?! I’m sure these old legs of mine would not be able to pull that off.

Yes, it was a long day over 13 hours, actual moving time was 10 hours 37 minutes with an average speed of 14.3mph.

A few photos from today’s ride around Stockholm. My excuse for late start today was a mild hangover from last night’s dinner with friends and after a late breakfast I decided to wash my bike and clean and lubericate the chain.
Also, the lighting is more pleasant in the late afternoon Only covered 30km as I had no other goal than to be outside on my bike in the nice weather.
Picture 3 is where the swimming and diving contests took place during the 1912 Olympic games.

Got a flat after about 16kms yesterday, and had a 2km walk of shame home. Threw my bike on the rack, took it to the LBS and had it converted to tubeless.

Thanks for the report. I’m a bit envious. I rode my Magnum Metro today because my Homage has been stuck in Boston customs for 3 weeks. I like the Metro well enough but I’m really looking forward to finally riding my own Homage.
