Thought it would be. Not a ton of room inside the frame, but enough for a water bottle and that range extender if it ever shows up. Really like that bike, I’ve been super happy with my Tough Road. Looking forward to some more action shots with it.

It was blowing even stronger than two days before...
I planned to see my first cousin Jacek (we actually address each other by "brother") at the Wolumen Market in north Warsaw. Jacek makes his living out of the television gear market and has his additional business at the Wolumen on Sundays. He helped me by buying a remote for a rare TV set my daughter uses. It was all very exciting and quite long trip, taking into account the 30+ km/h winds
I rode out the Lovelec for better range and to be able to swap batteries en route.
What really positively shocked me was the fact I covered almost the whole route (30 km one way) via perfect, dedicated bike lanes! The local governments are very kind to cyclist here. There is very strong cycling lobby in Warsaw. They started with convincing former President of Warsaw, Ms Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz to appoint a special adviser for cycling. Now, it is almost a paradise for riders. Interestingly, the neighbouring counties and boroughs followed the suit. It is good to be in the EU that supports cycling.
Pictures from the return way. You can see the flags vigorously flapping. The bike lanes are often colour-coded to differentiate them from pedestrian ones. In this case, the bike lane is red.
The Wolumen Market in Warsaw. I grew up in Wawrzyszew, which had been a part of Warsaw but actually was a true rural neighbourhood (mind you, my grandpa had a black work horse Kary!) We were resettled to new homes in 1973, as a residential urban district was to be built there. Soon, a flea market was organised at the Wolumen Street. I was doing some petty trade as a teenager (and a punk-rocker!) myself back there in 1978/79. Later, it was a black market for stolen goods... and even later serious electronics market developed there. I came at the closing time. The market looks shabby; you can buy vegetables and rural food products in addition to electronics; but don't judge the book by the cover
Yours at the train stop of Ursus-Niedźwiadek (Ursus-Little Bear; "ursus" means bear in Latin itself). There is a huge parking area for bikes there, at least by Polish standards.
A picturesque bike-only lane through Pruszków railway junction. In late 1944, in the wake of Warsaw Uprising collapse, German Nazi displaced all the survivors of the city (to demolish Warsaw). A temporary camp called Dulag 121 was created near the place.
"Refuelling" or battery swapping. By chance, the name of the street is "Electric Str."
The 576 Wh battery was good for 50 km at the high PAS level.
The last rest 5 km from home, at a tiny bus terminus in the village of Parzniew. Next dedicated bike lanes ahead, upwind!

No interesting pictures today but that was almost a perfect day. With +5 C and less clothes on than usually (I found I actually need to protect myself against wind, not cold), with favourable winds and beautiful sunshine, it was a pleasure to ride Vado to Warsaw. The pretext was to go to Decathlon Okęcie but I just needed an excuse for making the trip Taking into account I had a strong downwind on the way out and a gentle breeze on the way back, I tested the Eco mode. The range improved from 45 to 75 km! So, after 44 km ride I had 40% battery left.
But that was the second and last chance given to road SPD shoes/cleats/pedals. Unexpected braking in the "very far Aleje", forgot to release the shoe from the pedal, a fall. I have had enough! No serious injuries yet my right leg hurts and I will need to give up cycling for a couple of days...
It has been a fun on the way back, partly in the daylight, and partly at night. I am sure I am perfectly visible to drivers, with full body reflective clothing and the fantastic lights provided by Specialized with their Vados back in 2017. I had no single issue with motorists, not a single honk even.
I was moving slowly on the way back, enjoying the ride. Suddenly, I decided I wanted to take a shortcut home, a trail leading along the WKD rail, with a small bridge, a lot of loose stone there because of the way the rail embankment was made. Before I went on that dark trail, I slightly adjusted the headlight. Whoa! Now it lit all the way up for at least 30 metres ahead, any small detail perfectly visible! Of course I rode slowly and it was hard to negotiate the bridge walking in road shoes I intentionally extended the trip by 4 km for more joy.
Only now, after I took some nap, the leg hurts me... But I'm smiling.
P.S. I found my very old acrylic knee band I used after a knee injury back there in 2005. It helps a lot!

With a big storm forecast for the whole weekend (with a possibilty of 80mph winds tomorrow) I wasn't holding out much hope of getting a ride but after my morning chores I was sorely tempted to take a risk and go for it as the wind wasn't too bad (only around 45mph) and I could pick the best roads for shelter, thankfully I was rewarded for my (crazy) efforts and managed yet another 50 miler! Thanks to the winds the roads even dried out Not the most scenic route but after missing out last weekend (again due to weather) I was just glad to get out again About 15 mins after I got home the heavens opened and the wind really picked up but watching from inside it looks lovely

Everywhere I ride has water. Should be snow, but....hey. Global warming/climate change. It is taking over. We've had more temperate riding days in January and February than I've ever known.
This during a recent 50 mile ride in January - neither rain nor snow , trees or rural landscape. Instead, i wanted to capture the endless flow of cars on a 6 lane Washington DC thoroughfare (Rt 28) where the Washington and Old Dominion bike trail spans overhead. It is so neat to stop mid bridge and watch the cars speed along underneath at 60-75mph.
The shot is taken through the chainlink fence. Didn't expect the fence to take center stage, but it did, lending a very interesting geometric effect to an otherwise mundane picture.

Readyto ride, I used to ride from Falls Church trying to save enough battery to reach Winchester MD going up Ga Ave (MD 97) and back . Never made it but got close. Take trails to Ga ave then strait up. Pretty decent place to ride , right lane is either marked or larger lane further up to Brookeville , then still ok but doable for a long ride. Round trip a title over 100 miles

I'm impressed and wowed, both with the range *and* riding in the congested atmosphere of Wash DC. I'd be terrified of all those cars, trucks, busses, and crazy pedestrians everywhere. I'd be a fish out of water. Too used to the rural countryside.
How is the riding in Georgia? Any pics to share?
Range is 3 batteries on Stromer, bike trails to Aspen hill and then just Ga , after Brookeville a little tighter but doable
i moved to Atlanta suburb , just 3 miles to the Silver Comer trail, 100 miles ending in Alabama. No pics just don’t take them but a nice rail to trail. I have not really ridden anywhere else yet. And so far only hit 100 once when visiting earlier , neither bike I have works well so not sure when I can go for a real long ride yet, weather better then VA but too cold and wet still to ride anytime I want.
I would go to Lake Kneedwood then take the trail to the Cross County hwy, then get to Ga , nicer rider used more juice so started more roads . Always opposite of rush hour.
