I am totally jiggy with that!
2 weeks since my last ride due to the lovely storms we are getting here, when I woke I thought it was going to be another one of those days as it was still very windy and sleet and snow showers were pretty frequent! I had another look at the weather forecast and all 3 weather services were showing an improving picture from around 2pm, with a strong 25mph (gusting to 45) westerly which they said would reduce to around 20mph (no more strong gusts) after 2pm so I decided to set off in an easterly direction at 12.45pm which should get me to my turning point sometime after 2pm!
I reached my turning point after 2pm and turned into the strong headwind with an average speed of almost 19mph (by the time I got home it decreased to 15.4mph) and I knew I was too early as the gusts were still around 40mph, I still had 75% left on my battery so I switched to level 2 assist to fight the winds! I could see some dark clouds in the distance which looked a bit ominous and then the hail arrived, it was so painful but thankfully it didn't last long and turned to a light drizzle!
The wind was still relentless but I was making good progress and finally the drizzle abated and the wind stopped gusting, that was a welcome relief! Another 50 miler in the bag and despite the wind and hail it was so good to get back out there, now bring on Spring please
I just love cycling and if I don't go out when the weather is inclement I would never get out much in Scotland
At least you have your snooker to keep you occupied, at this time of year its good to have an indoor passion
We certainly both share the passion for cycling @RabH. Let us be honest: This winter is exceptionally warm; the winds however strong here are no match for the Scottish ones; and we had no sleet this year (yet). The more I admire your feat!
My motivation is twofold:
1. Ride or die - the health reasons force me to cycling almost every day. Any day not ridden is a step towards my coffin.
2. I don't want to look like fool to my friends buying two e-bikes last year, spending good money on winter clothing and then letting the bikes rest in the garage
And yes, I do love cycling.

I’m an addict so every bike ride is exiting to me
