I just found a cool tool.

Everyone with a chain stretch measuring device should pair it with one of these,..

since you never pedal this tool is pretty worthless to you. you can get the same results sticking your finger in there

I am in the process of adding a BBS02B mid-drive to my hub-drive, so my chain and sprockets are going to start seeing some use.

I've already upgraded my freewheel and I bought a KMC ebike rated chain to replace my "Z" rated KMC chain.
I was gunna cheap out and buy a "Z" chain, but I couldn't find one long enough, and I didn't want to join two together.
(I actually had the "Z" chain in my cart then figured that I should count the links on my chain first.
It's a good thing that I can count past 100 )


It should be here in a couple weeks.

I might actually get it up and running before the first snowstorm.

I was thinking about switching the freewheel for a cassette that doesn't ratchet.

I don't need the cassette or freewheel to ratchet because the BBS02B chainring ratchets, so the chain would keep moving, and I could change gears without pedaling.

But there's too much drag on the chainring clutch, and that would affect my range too much, so I'm gunna have to start pedaling, but only to shift gears.

I often put lights on helmets. Two of these are close motion activated. You move through modes such as solid to strobe by waving your hand. The ones on the ends are epoxied on. The middle one is attached by rubber straps. The one on the left is removable with the visor. What is great is that the light moves to where you are looking, like at a driver while entering a crosswalk. I also use fixed lights on bike. This is supplemental.

The new kind of low-end headlamp impresses me. No colored lights. Just wide high, wide low, spot high, and spot low. The wide bar is intense enough to be conspicuous in the sun but I think not too intense to look at a driver at night.

If you hold the button a few seconds, the spot and wide strobe rapidly together, and it's intense 100 yards away in the sun. The original strap won't go around a helmet, so I wear my Richardson 112 Original Trucker cap to flash the beautiful lady down the street. She must be pretty thrilled because she flashes me with her headlights. Of course she doesn't let the public see her face when she does that.

Bought the park tool clamping spoke holder to keep the spokes from turning when tightening. Works like a charm. It works on spokes up to 13 ga and I had some 12 ga. So take it apart and get the file out. Now works on 12 ga spokes

I have lights epoxied to my helmets. One is on a removable visor. One has a motion sensor to select modes. You just wave your hand in front of it. I love the classic horn. What is so great about them is that they put a smile on people's faces. It is not just saying Hey, get out of my way. It has whimsy.

I've been having nightmares since I substituted two short bars for one long one. The streets are awash, and in the heavy rain I don't see Pennywise until the prow of his yacht is looming over me. Clowns laugh at clown horns, and a Bombay taxi horn probably wouldn't daunt Pennywise. In my dream I reach for the plunger of my boat horn, but it's not there because there wasn't space to mount it. I''m up the creek without a paddle.

The two smaller horns might not even honk. IMHO, the tariff on miniature power tools is too low. With modern tools, it doesn't take a carpenter bee long to plug those horns. The boat horn has never failed. I guess bees find it intimidating or the color disagreeable.

If I knew where to get a long stem, I could mount a third handlebar for my boat horn.
