For Dorado Max 505L(80pcs 18650 cells), max 52V 17.5AH, 14S5P 70pcs of Samsung 35E 18650 cells.
For Dorado Max 440L(60pcs 18650 cells), max 52V 14AH, 14S4P 56pcs of Samsung 35E18650 cells.

For Dorado 21700 505L(65pcs 21700 cells), max 52V 20AH, 14S4P 56pcs of Samsung 50E 21700 cells.
For Dorado 21700 440L(52pcs 21700 cells), max 52V 15AH, 14S3P 42pcs of Samsung 50E 21700 cells.

For Dorado 21700 505L(65pcs 21700 cells), max 52V 20AH, 14S4P 56pcs of Samsung 50E 21700 cells, continuous discharging current about 40Amps
For Dorado 21700 440L(52pcs 21700 cells), max 52V 15AH, 14S3P 42pcs of Samsung 50E 21700 cells, continuous discharging current about 30Amps

Please kindly note that the Samsung 50E each cell nominal capacity is 4900mAh(4.9AH), but usually it is counted as 5000mAh(5Ah) for easier counting.
Each single Samsung 50E cell continuous discharge rate 2C(capacity)=2*4.9=9.8Amps, counted as 10Amps, peak discharge rate 3C=3*4.9=14.7Amps, counted as 15Amps.
Thus we can conclude 14S4P 52V 20AH, which can continuously discharge current 40Amps, peak 60Amps.

But the BMS is choosed depending on the motor power. The BMS max allowing current should 150% higher than continuous discharging current to protect the battery.
For example,
Dorado 21700 505L, 52V 20AH, used for a 1000W rated motor, demanding about 20Amps continuous discharging current, we need choose 30Amps BMS, peak allowing 100±20Amps.
Dorado 21700 505L, 52V 20AH, used for a 1500W rated motor, demanding about 30Amps continuous discharging current, we need choose 45Amps BMS, peak allowing 135±20Amps.
Dorado 21700 505L, 52V 20AH, used for a 2000W rated motor, demanding about 40Amps continuous discharging current, we need choose 60Amps BMS, peak allowing 180±20Amps.
1000W or 1500W motor are both available for use, but 2000W is not suggested, since the battery has to constantly discharge at its ultimate capabililty, which might shorten the battery lifetime.

Recently some people come to me and ask for the upgrade battery for upgrade 2300W rated motor.
The maxium 52V 20AH is not available for 2000W, much less for 2300W.

Could you pls tell what is the motor power you will use with the 52V Dorado battery? Thanks!

I was hoping it would be a bit higher than 20AH i have 2 17.5AH batteries but was looking for a decent upgrade on range and i found with the 48v battery the last 25% of the battery is too weak for the 1500w draw and would cut power

Not sure they offer a 52v version of the Dorado battery but Jenny will likely see these messages and respond herself, she's also been helping my son who was looking into a bike kit and a battery for that and I know they offer batteries in other cases.

A 52v version of the Dorado batteries is interesting. If Aijiu does offer such a battery I'd be tempted to maybe look at a lower capacity 52v battery for a commute to the grocery store I do that's like 15km round trip, I do that run on the highest PAS setting and would enjoy the extra acceleration a 52v battery would provide, plus my son would love a high performance battery with his de-restricted bike.

Yes she did get back and said there 52v 20Ah but I currently have 2 52v17.5ah that have only been charged a few dozen times just bought them last fall so the 25% isn't worth ATM but I know where I will get my new batteries

I also had a NCM Moscow plus my girlfriend still has the NCM Prague 350w but she's only like 100lbs so more than enough power for her but she does want more now that she's used to it

48V battery output voltage range is 39-54.6V, some controller will detect and activate the over-low voltage protection when battery voltage less than 42V.

52V battery output voltage range is 42-58.8V, such problems might not exist.

But for now,52V 20Ah is indeed the max upgrade capacity we can obtain with Reention case.

Hi, 52V is available, but the inner cells space is limited, we must sacrifice some capacity to get a higher voltage.
A lower capacity 52v battery is a good choice!

If you think you're "upgrading" by going to 52V 20Ah from 52V 17.5Ah, you might be wrong.

Because check out the spec that she just provided to us.


So, the 52V 17.5Ah is powered by 35E (14S 5P) and 50V 20Ah is powered by 50E (14S4P).

Okay so, with that in mind,

The 52V 17.5Ah is powered by 35E, parallel of 5 cells (8.0A x 5), 40A
The 52V 20Ah is powered by 50E, parallel of 4 cells (9.8A x 4), 39.2A

Although the difference is very small, if you look at the continuous discharge rate, the 52V 17.5Ah is slightly better.

But if someone is looking for a Reention Dorado 440mm, it might be better to pick the 35E Dorado MAX than Dorado 21700.

Totally agreed. And you must know the Sanyo 18650 GA 3450mAh, a little higher capacity than Samsung 35E, but discharge rate 10A.

I am planning to book off a day from work when it arrives and try to bike it and see what kind of range I get right out of the box! I've seen pics of it, Jenny kept me updated as they made it since it's the first one using that new large capacity case.

Hit up Jenny. She can provide you a price shipped with taxes based on how you want the battery configured. I configured mine with the faster charging port and added a faster charger to my order. The charger that comes with the RX Pro is a 2.1 plug (its a slower 2 amp charger) versus the 4amp charger and port I ordered for this battery. Also I ordered mine with the USB port disabled, I don't use it. So your price will vary depending on what configuration / extra options you choose.

I have the same bike as you, same battery 48V 19.2AH, no need to update or change the controller.
