The winds have been relentless here recently and today was no exception but at lesast there was a chance to get out so I grabbed it! The first 22 miles were amazing with the strong wind behind me, when I turned it was a very different story! Was I glad I had 2 batteries, all the way back I had to use level 3 assist going into the 35-40mph winds, they were brutal! At least I managed to stay dry which was a bonus, I was sure I was going to get soaked at some point but my luck was in!

Recently I showed a photo of a new born Shetland pony, I passed that way again today and noticed there were 3 in total with this beautiful white one the stand out!

I decided to try the new road I discovered recently in the opposite direction and I had a blast with the strong wind behind me!

This part was the most fun!

At the end of the road I came to a crossroads and realised I hadn't gone straight through it before, what a treat I came across as the road had been recently resurfaced and no traffic to be seen!

I was now heading for the town of Linlithgow and captured this photo of the Campsie Hills!

The final big climb before heading home, its amazing how flat it looks in the photo but its a 17% gradient!

What a great ride that was despite the wind, I was sure glad I wasn't riding into that wind on a standard bike! Only 3 more miles until I reach 2000 miles for this year from 45 rides, an average of just over 44 miles per ride! I'm hoping to ride to the motorcycle racing on Sunday, but I'm in 2 minds as its looking a bit chilly to be standing for a few hours...I would much rather cycle than take the car though!

Got in a quick 20km non-PAS training ride on a glorious morning and stopped to admire some of the acreage homes along our route.

It might be the flat prairies but the distant mountain views from this homeowner’s perch certainly make up for any misgivings. It must feel dreadful to have to look out at this every morning.

Rode into the vets office and picked up medicine for our cat. I rode down an alley and took a picture of a store called Spirit In The Sky. It’s kind of an eclectic collection of clothing and home decor. Their back door is painted up with quite the decorations.

Our update.

Haven’t been out on the bikes for a week or so. Mrs DGs Wisper is still off the road and I’ve been receiving some shockwave therapy for my Plantar Fasciitis.

Good news….
- Mrs DG has a new bike, we decided to get her a crank motor eBike and ended up getting a Riese and Muller Nevo3 GT Vario for her, which came on Thursday.
- My PF is not as painful as it was, albeit, more treatment required.

We had other things on yesterday and Mrs DG is working a double shift today, so we will be out riding tomorrow.

So look out for some pictures of a new bike and of course, a picnic or two…

Rented a Bianchi T-Tronik Rebel 9.2 in Lake Como Italy. Rode from Bellagio up to Alpe dei Picet (Mt. St. Primo) overlooking Bellagio. Swiss Alps in the distance. 3,477 Ft elevation gain. I missed my 1500W Luna BBSHD Fat bike power. These 250W European bikes are woefully underpowered (in comparison.)

You guys are so spoiled Welcome to our world but I'm more than happy with my restricted to 15.5mph 80nm 250W Giant which can climb almost anything! What a beautiful part of the world to ride!

I think in the US, the emphasis is on the "e", while in Europe, the emphasis is on the "bike" .

If it happened here I could almost guarantee there would be calls for licensing and motorbike helmets! I have a motorbike if I feel the need for speed, I would much prefer to have restrictions to make cycling remain free from licensing laws!

I love my class 3 Trek…but my first ebike, a class one, was great until I started following all the yahoos on here.

OMG, that 15.5 mph limited speed on the bike was so disappointing. I hit the roads around Lake Como, 5am, empty roads and I could not blast my way around. Felt so restricted. Love my 160NM BBSHD! Just rode it today since I got back. What Freedom! All that aside, it was beautiful, as
was the scenery from the Ferry rides.

While you Europeans have underpowered bikes of high quality. Your healthcare is superb. My American (Scottish Born) brother-in-law broke his collar bone and two ribs on our ride. We called him a taxi and sent him packing to the hospital in Lecco (no mollycoddling here!). We rode down to Bellagio and had lunch on the water. 1.5 days in the hospital. X-Rays, CT Scans, bone specialists, etc. His hospital bill was ZERO! Cannot beat that.
