Congratulations Suzie. Just to let you know my Retenton Dorado 48v 20.4A 500watt battery that I purchase from you for my 2018 Surface Colt is still working beautifully. I can easily get 50 miles on a charge using all various assist levels.

oops chiming in late here - susie, welcome back and congrats, hope your fam is managing to get some sleep with the new kiddo around! all three of my aijiupower batteries are working perfectly - reckon i put ~1400 miles on one of my dorado packs and ~500 on the other dolphin-style... had to tow 100 lbs of sand up a long hill so was really glad to have the extra capacity. (also did the trip with 200 lbs of sand but that seemed a bit risky on my trailer (causing hitch to drag on my rear rack) so i started doing smaller loads!)

I recently acquired the 48v 20.4 battery through Susie. because of the weather I only managed to get out for one ride. After 62km the battery indicator on the controller showed only 4 bars left out of 10. Looking at that it appeared that more than half of the charge was gone. However, the indicator on the battery itself still showed 3 out of 4 lights. Could it be that there is some setting on the controller where it's set to show power on a 10.3 ah battery rather than on a 20.4? I have a 2017 Rook and the Bafang DP C07.UART Electric Bike Display.

Sorry, but it's important to use a multimeter and post actual voltage readings.
Those battery "indicator" modules are 10 cent parts and not at all reliable.

I realize that, but had I even posted the readings, I don't see how that relates to my question. To reiterate: are the individual battery parameters entered and set into the controller unit, or can the Bafang DP C07.UART determine the size of the battery on its own?

I think it only needs to read the voltage and that gives it a % of charge left or it translates that into number of bars showing. but that is an interesting question - I just assumed so I hope to find out too.
Now I think I vaguely remember reading that it has to be set.

Well, based on the manual, there is no input into the display for the ah of the battery. After a few rides it appears that the display is out of sinc with what is actually going on with the battery. After 37km the display was down to 6 (of 10) bars. At 70km it was down to 4. However, the voltage read 48.7v, which is 61% remaining capacity. After 104km, I was down to one bar and one light of four on the battery indicator. At that point my multimeter read 46.4v or 40% remaining capacity. I rode the entire time on PAS2, on rolling hilly roads. So based on that, I probably could have gone another 30km before reaching 20% of the capacity. In summary, my potential range at this time is 130km, and I rode in 6-8C temps.
