New to e bikes, this will be our first...

Considering the Elby, but understand the Bionx motor is no longer supported.

Looking for a relaxed (knees forward position) bike with pedal assist with hill power and throttle.

Any suggestions and comments are appreciated.

Hi and welcome! There's a lot of information to understand about e-bikes and this forum is a great place to learn. I'm sure others will jump in and be able to help soon :)

Welcome from Texas. Hopefully there are a few LBS's within driving distance where you can try some different bikes. On the homepage there are hundreds of reviews by model, manufacture and style which I found very helpful.

I noticed that Elby's website doesn't offer much information on specification (unless I'm missing it). Take your time in making your choice. Read as much as you can about the models your interested in. Local is best but doesn't always work for most folks. if you order online, make sure the company has a great customer service department (this is key).

Oh yeah, keep asking questions on the forum. people are helpful and friendly here.

Bionx has a computer in the battery that talks to the controller, so when battery #1 wears out, a bionx system is totalled. Pity, I support buying units made in North Am, but that feature killed my desire for one of these. If you can afford to write off the bike in 2-3 years, don't worry about it.

Thanks for the advice,

I tried an Elby. My husband did not like it as much as the Surface 604 Rook/ Colt, not that it matters as we will be buying 2 bikes. I didn't mind the Elby, but not sold on it.

Thanks,

Yes that worries me too. I will unlikely wear a bike out in that timeframe.

Thanks
