Ebike won't move with throttle, just chatters and pulses

Hi, having a real issue with my revi cheetah. The throttle when engaged withe on it, just makes the bike chatter and pulse a bit. Battery is full charge. I rode it the other day and it was fine, now it's just not. I've tried to trouble shoot everything. I purchased a new throttle and plugged it it but didn't work either. If I pick the bike up by the seat and twist the throttle all I can get is 9 mph or so on the rear wheel. But if I sit on it, it won't move. Brakes are good ECT. Is it the controller? I'm super confused. If it is, where do I get a replacement. Thanks everyone

How many miles have you put on the ebike?

Chattering sounds like that motor may be shot and gears failed.

Hi, only has 600 miles since 2020. I bought it second hand and is ran well when I got it about a week ago. I only put 2 miles on it. I work a lot. I just don't understand. It spins when I hold in the air. But not full speed.
 
Does it continue to shudder, or does it shut down after a second or two? No code faults on the display? I had a Bafang gear hub motor fail at 1,600 miles. The repair guy thought it was a bad solder joint, but soldered it and it stranded me out on a trail after 6 miles.

Yes, shudders then stops. Just pulled the motor and the planetary looks fine. I can hold the axle and motor in my hand and hit the throttle and it will try to turn but if I clench it it will just vibrate like it's grinding, but it's not. Confused. Maybe a sensor? Hell I'm lost

You no doubt have a phase failure, either in the motor or the controller (or connection between the two). I presume you've checked the connections to the controller and the motor?
 
Yes, all connections have been unplugged and checked. These bikes are all new to me. I was putting higher handlebars on it because I'm tall and before I did that I wanted to check the connections to see what I should order for extension. Of course I haven't done that work yet with the handlebars. I just pull all the connections looked and put them back together so I had a better understanding. This is what I get for fooling with it LOL. I'm pretty savvy on things I just don't know what this one's all about. I tried to send a video of me holding the magnet and the axle while my wife hit the throttle to show it just stutters. How is a phase failure fixed?

Those connector pins are small and easily bent or broken. Might want to pull them and check they are not damaged and slotted correctly together.
 
Will do, ty. Especially on the throttle I'm sure. I also bought a new throttle so it must be the pins that the throttle goes into? Not quite sure
 
Definitely a hall sensor in the motor. Shudder and stop was what happened to me. I could shut it down, wait 30 seconds, turn everything on, and it would shudder and stop again.

I wouldn't expect any help from the guys that think any electric bike that goes over 20mph is too fast for them.

They are still needing training wheels, lol!

You’re really tiring. My 3 BBSHD builds were capable of 33-35mph. That was in 2016. I currently have 2 new motors easily capable of illegal speeds and power settings. But I have enough respect for statutes (not the innacurate ones you posted) and my own skin to not be an asshat on public streets. Don’t blow smoke up arses of posters asking for help and feign any actual experience. Bent pins don’t react like failing hall sensors. BTW how many builds, repairs, rebuilds, or different motors have you had experience with? Never mind we already know…

It’s not unusual for hub motors with sensor wiring coming out of the axle to get damaged, shorted or severed. EDIT I see now your Rear gear drive has side out wiring. I’d still take a close look.
