Como vs Vado- HELP!

... because while the Dove Greys are selling out, Specialized seems to have plenty of Metallic Crimsons available. ;)
I think that Specialized produced fewer of the Dove Gray bikes since they knew up front that they were not as fast as the Crimson Red models, and fewer would be purchased as they were only being bought by the more esoteric customers.

Little do folks realize though that the Gray ones can be made to go faster (just like some cars) through the appropriate application of speed stickers and decals!😆

...and don't forget riding while yelling 'zoom zooom'

...that seems to sum it up....the alternate theory would be that they overestimated the demand for red and underestimated the demand for gray.
The manufacturers like the look of their bikes in stealthy colors: black, bronze, navy, dark red, ...

Some of us who are going to be sharing the road with perennially distracted drivers of increasingly massive vehicles just want to be seen.

Specialized seemed to understand this with those bright yellow Vados from a few years ago. But now it seems like they let the art directors of their catalogs pick the colors.

So red moves faster on the road but slower on the sales floor?
Well, it's a 'well established' fact that any shade of red, esp Specialized Crimson, is the fastest color, esp when you yell Zoom Zoom! It has been suggested that it's simply physics at work.

The fact that Specialized made lots of the fastest color is a good thing for those wanting to go fastest.. fastester...whatever..😎

Jerry Koosman Rookie cards are the fastest
I had that card: '68 Mets Rookie Stars with Koosman and Ryan. Was the most valuable card in my collection, which I gave to my nephew. Have no idea what graded condition it would have been in.

I got the crimson Vado 4.0. Can attest when it touches 28mph the crimsom morphs into 1967 Ford Mustang hot rod red.

I thought I wanted dove gray. Nuh-huh.

My '67 'stang was an almost metallic dark green with a black interior. Very fund car to have in college, esp with the beach 30 minutes away! Too bad my black Vado doesn't turn into it at 28mph, but Crimson IS the magic color...😎

My first car in High School was a '68 Mustang GTCS, black on black with the 390 (albeit with the 2bbl carb) motor.

So fortunate that I was working at a General Tire store and could get rear replacement tires at cost+. I sure went through a few sets...;)

Had that car for more than 30 years. Got more than the $1,100 I had originally paid for it when I eventually sold it!

For some reason I remember a card showing him throwing a pitch and the caption was Koosman shuts the door. Must have been in 69, the only year this Yankees fan could also be a Mets fan!
