So just like you can get a electric kit for your regular bike, looks like now if you live in France, you could get one for your small ICE car. And the swap is done in 4 hours, and costs $8500 before incentives.

Of course it only has a range of 100 miles, but heck that's way cheaper than a $50k Tesla Model 3.

I doubt that ever comes to the US. Regulators and politicians are basically 'owned' by the car industry behemoths, and Musk would try to stop it cold. Gas being way more expensive over there, turns this into a 4 year payback.

Anytime you think the US industry is innovative, keep in mind it's more about technology adoption stopping, and business thwarting oriented. It's all about the almighty dollar and protecting profits at any cost. So many inventions and innovations we will never see bc of this.

I'd like a LPG kit for my 4200 lb 255 cu in car. Sometimes I need to move something bigger than will fit on the bicycle. LPG conversion kits come standard for 350 cu in trucks with a 400 gallon tank. I could fit about a 20 gal tank. This **&^%^@$ RFG evaporates down to an unburnable sludge in a month, if you don't use it up driving around. Storage requires a pressurized plastic tank to keep the propane in the mix. I bought a new gas tank for my car in 2007, came with the same vent setup it was equipped with in 1959. It is illegal to sell 1959 formula gasoline now, you have to buy this sludge + propane. (amyl butyl ether). Tried conversion with buna-n sealed solenoid valves, the seal dissolved in a month. Chemical rubber sealed valves are for sale only to businesses, not individuals. I offered to buy a run of 16 valves for 6 cars, the Asco factory rep told me to stuff it. *^$*&@)&(*+*#

Its already being done by multiple shops here and everywhere. Yamaha and others have modular engine/battery combo's coming for all kinds of drop in use. It's the next wave of hot rodding..

I recently watched a You Tube video of a shop's Mazda Miata electric conversion. Spent $4000 for the car and $20,000 for the conversion.

When more used Chevy Bolts are on the market - - when those on lease contracts now are freed up for sale - - I think I'm going to sell my Toyota Prius and get me one. Maybe in 2022. My 2013 Prius will have less than 70K miles on it and will be a nice car for someone. Meanwhile, I think a Bolt will be just fine for me.

I don't understand half of what you wrote, but I used to have a Datsun pickup that ran on propane. It had been converted by Boeing for use inside airplane hangars, because the emissions weren't as poisonous as a gas engine. It was just fine. Only had a ten gallon tank - - like a BBQ. The engine oil never got dirty. It had no gas gauge, so I had to run out of propane a few times to know how far I could go on a tank. I learned that when I hit 100 miles, it was time to find a gas station with propane. Because if I ran out, I had to be towed. I had it for some years, and finally sold it when I moved out here to the country, because the propane tank was underneath the bed of the truck, and I had to be careful on rough roads.

I don't know. I've seen a lot of them where you take over someone's lease, but there is usually a mileage limit while it is on contract. But when these leases "mature", and there are newer ones available, then there will be used ones on the market. I needed to get a car earlier this year, and they only started making them in 2017 or 18, I think.
