Perfect weather for ducks and ebikes …

A pastel green catamaran? Brave choice, but I think it worked out well.

A friend has a green trimaran , it seemed like a strange choice until I realised the instinct is to give way to green ( or at least that's my first instinct at night - even when they don't have right of way - see puc below)

This is the only pic I have of his tri , heading towards the sun so the colour is washed out

November 1 Autumn Ride Along the Skagit River

On October 14, I was able to resume riding after the late August surgery on my left quad. That was sooner than I thought possible and most importantly there appears to be less muscle loss than anticipated. I am overwhelmed with gratitude to the doctors, and medical staff for their amazing care, and to the healing power of the universe in this uncertain time.

I have been able to ride almost every day since then, although there have been a few due to weather or pain that I have sat out. In the seventeen days of October I managed to ride 338 miles so the unavoidable conclusion is that I am back. I do have to work off the extra weight I put on being idled for six weeks but I am able to ride almost as strong as before and keep up with my roady friends on group rides just fine.

Yesterday, my friend Matt and I drove down to Skagit county and up highway 20 to Concrete WA. We continued on our bikes up 20 to Rockport and then up the Sauk River, crossing over and then down the south bank of the Skagit River. It was a perfect bluebird day with temperatures in the mid sixties, not a breath of wind, cloudless sky and crystal clear. I was riding my Trek Allant+9.9s while Matt was riding his Specialized Turbo Creo. 33 miles of gorgeous ride. Today looks almost as good. Tomorrow the rain starts for four days and then bitter cold is supposed to arrive. This may be the last warm and sunny day till spring. I plan to make the best of it (which of course means a bike ride).

Congrats on your comeback! You da man!🍻
I just have to get back out to PNW to ride! I have friends in Bellingham who are finally getting off their butts and getting ebikes so I’m determined to get there next year!

My rides are so boring compared to all you guys! That said, did my little 25 mile workout ride again today, facing significant headwinds. Seeing (and smelling) the freshly plowed-under corn stalks and corn cobs of the decimated fields (since the derecho in August) is a sign the agricultural cycle of life. This is all done to give back to the soil for years to come.🌽

David, I've never really taken to paddle boarding but your photo is giving me second thoughts! 👍
This is the sort of paddling I did in years past…

Had I turned around 180º, the photo would have been of our granddaughter's classroom – yes, this is their view – at Humpybong State School which is the school that Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb attended when they started out as the Bee Gees.

Quite a view she has there, no reason not to attend school! ;) I think I might need to take up watersports myself, non stop rain for days...looking better after today though!

@Alaskan , You are lookin like your old ( younger ) self again. Time to change your avatar methinks. 👍 ;):)

After days of rain it was a beautiful Autumn day today with light winds and some lovely and very welcome sunshine! It was such a great feeling getting out again and the lovely Autumn conditions made it all the more enjoyable! :D Nice quiet back roads for the most part, lots of floods after all the rain but nothing to stop me in my tracks!;) My total mileage for 2020 is now 5,322 miles from 130 rides, my best ever year was 2012 with 5,349 miles, so tomorrow will be a record breaking day all going well!:D
