I was out this morning in my local area, no place really notable, but I went 19.1 miles, and the next ride I take (tomorrow morning), I'm going to roll the odometer past 1000 miles!
But the strange thing that happened was as I was whizzing downhill on a bit of 50mph highway, chugging uphill was - - I would swear it was him - - Stefan! I thought "Wow, Stefan really gets around!"
Ha..no, its not that old, Telford built it.Did the Romans build that ?
What a grand ride and great accomplishment. You certainly live in an idyllic place for riding a bicycle. Thank you for all the beauty and adventure you have shared with us. I look forward to more.Everything fell into place today for my 100 mile attempt, I decided to set off at 5am to avoid the traffic and it worked perfectly! It was such an epic ride, a little misty and foggy at first but thankfully the sun soon burned that off and it turned out to be a beautiful day with just light winds so I really picked the day for it! I had to make sure I saved enough battery for the last 20 miles of climbing, I finished with just 5% so I only just made it!
I actually still had about 63% left with 30 miles to go but my legs were starting to feel it so I turned the assist up to basic/active which ate up the battery! I have now covered 10,223 miles but my evo odometer just reached 10,000 today so I decide to capture it! I went crazy with photos today but I have cut them down a bit as there are just too many...I will split them up between 2 posts!

Stefan, I really enjoy your sharing of the charms and beauty of Poland. It looks like a wonderful place to ride a bike!Congratulations RabH! David you made me smile again!
Meanwhile "Greetings from the mountains!"
There is a Polish idiom used to thank someone in advance: "Thank you from the mountain!" So I thought I could "greet you from the mountain" although I decided to start riding only on Saturday morning. I'm exhausted with driving for 5 hours 50 minutes, if which 2 hours 50 mins were spent to only cover 90 km / 55 miles out of the total 423 km (264 mi) because the last miles were spend in mountainous area of Lower Silesia.
Silesia, the land once belonging to the Polish, the Czech, the Austrian and finally becoming a province of German Prussia (which only the last world war changed) is marvelous. Lower Silesia is hilly, green, misty, flowery, magical, with post-German architecture completely unknown in Central Poland. I'll try to be taking quality pictures since tomorrow. Now, the place I'm staying at (a hotel in Nowa Ruda/Neurode) doesn't offer any good view at the mountains.
I crossed the switchbacks of the Woliborska Pass not long time ago. I stopped at the Pass for several minutes and decided the first ride would be atop the Great Owl Mt. The Pass is the entry to the Owl Mts, and I liked it there!
Will post tomorrow.

The latest Nobel Prize winner, the author Olga Tokarczuk (of Nowa Ruda) in schoolchildren portraits.
LOL Good one ChezCheese!
Yes, Stefan puts on the kilometers. Maybe he rode across Europe, then the Atlantic ocean, the across the entire U.S. Now THAT would be an impressive ride. Not likely since he only has two batteries lol
Ive ridden a freshly chipped rd a few years back and my tyres were covered in gravel and tar which proceeded to fly off as I built up speed.Ruh roh! Abort! Abort!

For those of you not familiar with road maintenance, this road is being chip sealed. Oil is spread on the road and loads of gravel on top of that. Cars compact the gravel (and often get windshields damaged) then the road might be swept off, or else the gravel is thrown off by the speeding vehicles. It is very unpleasant to ride on at this stage so I turned back from my planned route and went north.
This also explains the heavier traffic on the road to get here. Folks were avoiding driving on it as much as possible.
They do a surface dressing here before winter and its horrendous for bikes because its basically loose gravel, one time I was riding my motorbike and came across it and stupidly decided to continue on and the next thing my front wheel picked up one of the stones and it smacked me right in the centre of my visor! I could easily have lost an eye if I had been riding with my visor up! Its supposed to make the roads more grippy in winter but its totally lethal for anybody on two wheels!Ruh roh! Abort! Abort!
