    Anyone Update to 850C Display

@Calicoskies, this is the generic color display that one of the companies Bafang works with and relabels for OEM producers like M2S. It does seem to be a little easier to program and the color contrast and brightness makes the info easier to read. There are a few additional features that you can...

DIY - Adding a simple pocket to a pannier

Clever, @PowerMe! Hope it works well. Just one note, the label says it's non-toxic and low fumes; do you find that to be the case? Is it safe to use indoors? I am sensitive to glue, paint and solvents with fumes, so I've found it helps to use items like that outdoors with a lot of ventilation...

Fatbike wheel in a 27.5+ fork (experience report)

Excellent info, @Dmitri! Thanks for the detail. I regularly read posts by members who don't like the stock fork, particularly on the fatter tires. Thanks for providing options and the very important hint of changing out the rotor size. Having a bit of rubbing or snagging of the brake calipers on...

    WTB: Ferei BL200XQ Headlight

@StudRock, if you have an image of this headlight you can upload, it might help people more rapidly identify what it is you're looking for.

Would anyone be interested in a universal charge monitor??

@Sunkmail, ultimately the answer would be both. However, if you start with your prototype for your own bike and test it for a bit to see if it works the way you want it to and come up with a not too bulky design at a reasonable cost, you might have something there. Right now Grin Technologies...

Causes of what seems to be motor noise

I like your ebike tech, @ebikemom; you've got a winner there! Chain guards are notorious for working loose and rubbing or vibrating. That's one of those little thinks owners need to check periodically.

    Canada: E-Bike Tax Exemption & Government Rebates/Incentives

Actually, @Timpo, we have a LOT of Canadian members on EBR; thanks for the links! There are some cities that offer modest rebates like Austin TX does through our power supplier, Austin Energy; so check with your local electric suppliers or city transportation offices to see if your hometown is...

    Has Ohm discontinued the Urban?

@Jerry LM, since OHM focuses mostly on direct to customer sales and has done some major redesign of the bikes with the frame integrated batteries, the Urban morphed into the "City" models as you note. Whether the Urban that you're considering would still have a warranty you would want to give...

    Is A2B still in business?

No, @Mookie, and any A2B that you buy probably will need a new battery or the current one rebuilt, so I recommend you walk away from those bikes. Here's why: A2B formerly known as UltraMotor, was abandoned by their Indian owners, Hero Eco, who made a tremendous investment in time and $$ trying...

    Noob gets a flat...

DaveMatthews, you might want to consider adding a tire liner, like a Mr. Tuffy or RhinoDillo and thicker thorn resistant tubes if this is your primary commuter bike. I know that's extra weight but more effective than slime stuff and many fewer flats...just a thought ;)

Where E-bikes are Made, and Why it's Important

Tom, the Tesla plant is focused on car batteries and large commercial storage cells first. The small cells like what would be used in an ebike are way down the road with them. AllCell assembles packs with special cooling features but does not manufacture 18650's or the 21700's. I think they do...

New guy from WV. Need help with a battery and probably more. (NOW RIDING)

pnop, it would be a good idea to add a Torque Arm on that front hub motor so it doesn't twist inside the front dropouts, especially at a start or quick acceleration. Grin Technologies offers several styles and the are the best out there. The torque arm anchors the motor axle; it's no fun if the...

Price increases coming - tariff on ebikes, kits, motors, is now 'official'

Mike, I looked carefully over Detroitbikes' site and they may produce the frame there but no other components, not the wheels, spokes, brakes/levers, etc. So they are on the right track; however, it's still somewhat deceptive advertising. They do what several US based ebike manufacturers do...

Where E-bikes are Made, and Why it's Important

@Big Tom, Panasonic cells are NOT manufactured in the US, ever. Someone could use Panasonic cells from China or Taiwan and then fabricate a whole battery pack claiming it was made in the USA. Please understand the distinction :) Same for the motor and possibly the electronics, too. We would...

    Tariffs and eBike Prices

Big Tom, the lithium cells to make lithium battery packs for ebikes are not manufactured in the US. Neither are most of the components to make a bike work. (And all of the basic bike components are on the next tariff to be started in Sept.) There are still some independent frame builders...

Could there be a way to list where we live?

@mrgold35, I am negligent for not letting you know how much your .gif was appreciated. First a, "What!!!" then a laugh. There are days...(I think everyone could relate to)

My Supercells and Surly Rigid Fork are in

CodyDog, the bike will have a less mushy feel in the front with those rigid forks especially maneuvering & turns. Good choice since you're riding primarily good roads :)

    Daymak, first escooter?

EBR member stevebriggs wrote about his experiences with a 2015/2016 Daymak Eagle 84V scooter in his 2016 post. I checked the scooter out on Daymak's Youtube video on the 2017/2018 version and have a couple of observations: The claim for easy climbing on a 20 degree hill is not totally honest...

Hello from Katoomba Australia, I am riding my second Smartmotion pedalec bike. I first had an e-urban, and now have a Pacer.

Welcome to to EBR, Fentham! Do you have the Pacer with the mid drive motor? I like those bikes, they're sharp looking and come with a lot of goodies. Be sure and upload some pics of your bike and where you ride, we all enjoy those :). @Chris Head, do you have any ideas about Fentham's odometer...

Anyone file a battery warranty claim?

@ymarty, why are you hesitating? eProdigy is a good company and there may be something they will do to help you on the battery and perhaps the battery mount. Glad you didn't get hurt and a quick reminder to slow down a lot going over any rail road tracks. I made the mistake one ride years ago...
